It was funny, there are gonna be some classic lines from this. I don't think its going to be a hit though, but I would not be surprised if it picks up steam on DVD and cable. Remember, nobody saw Office Space in theaters (seriously, it was empty when I saw Office Space), but that didn't mean it was a bad movie.
There wre maybe like 30 people there at Loews in Stafford. I thought there would be more because there were lots of cars, but I guess everybody was watching National Treasure 2. As far as reactions, people laughed at the jokes, but there were moments that had me and my brother and sister cracking up that I don't think were as funny to the majority there. It's not a laugh a minute like Superbad, I hope people don't go in expecting that.
Saw it last night to a nearly sold out crowd at the Drafthouse out in the 281. Fulfilled my expectations. I was crying five minutes into the movies. The various drug scenes had me in tears. "If your boner lasts for more than four hours, call more ladies!"
The better line was just after that. Pan to the temptations singing my girl. [Pov to dewey cox] Oh, the temptations!
The movie was hilarious. I was laughing harder than a lot of people in the theatre, and some people actually walked out on the movie. I didn't understand. I loved it. I would see it again, and I will buy it when it comes out on DVD.
agreed. talk about f'ing random. it's like the randomness of napoleon plus the randomness of superstar times 53 or something. a few folks walked out of the showing that me and my sister went to at first colony on sunday. can't wait to get this sucker on dvd. too many lines to remember from seeing it once. fav movie of the year.
Saw it over the weekend and loved it. The Tim Meadows mar1juana Warning has to be the best scene in the film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57DdviStOFo
i saw a midnight showing of this on Friday night. although i fell asleep during the 3rd quarter the movie (mainly b/c i had been drinking and a bit tired), i thought it was hilarious...and i've never seen Walk the Line.
there was definitely some very funny moments but this was far and away the worst recent movie that apatow had a hand in. jenna fischer was smoking though. i'll watch it again on dvd to see her.
I heard there were multiple gratuitous penis shots? I mean I guess I understand the boobs (gotta get the guys in there) but why the male full frontal? I'll probably wait til this comes out on DVD so I can fast forward.
You are correct. I'm guessing for the shock factor. My wife got a kick out of it. I finally saw the movie Saturday. I liked it a lot and am glad I went. I'm not going to put it above Superbad, but I liked it better than Knocked Up. I'm thinking maybe because Walk Hard is fresher in my mind. Knocked Up had more of a chick flick factor to it that kept it from being on Superbad's level to me.
I thought they tried a little too hard. I probably would have stayed for the whole thing, but the other guys I was with thought it was bad enough to walk out on. I'm sure I'll give it another shot once it comes out on DVD or HBO.
Making fun of the gratuitous boob shots I'm guessing. It was one of the funniest scenes in the movie. It would be silly for you to skip seeing this at the theatre just for that. I'd rank the 2007 Apatow's this way: 1. Walk Hard 2. Knocked Up 3. Superbad All three will eventually be in my top 10 of 2007 (need to see a few more movies before I make that), but I've seen them all multiple times now and Superbad just didn't hold up as much. Knocked Up should probably be 1b to Walk Hard's 1a, but considering I've seen Walk Hard twice already and really want to see it again, I put it at number one by itself. "Do you ever stop and smell the roses?"
