LOL. you kids these days! Actually Mrs. B-Bob has a higher screen-violence threshold than B-Bob, now that I think of it...
does anyone know when/where this is playing in Houston? I thought some theater would have it out already, but I havnt found one yet
I don't think this movie is playing in national release yet but considering all of the buzz it is getting it should be soon and will likely get a wide realease. Whoops just saw someone say it will open in HOuston in Mid January.
A lot of disfiguring plastic surgery, some Lyne pseudo-p*rn with Kim Basinger, a lot of crap for the money, and the Bukowski-inspired classic, Barfly. I agree with one critic a few years back, who wrote that if he'd died from the boxing career he foolishly embarked on, before all the lousy roles taken for the money, that he would have been remembered, James Dean-like, for Barfly. Classic movie. "To all my friends!" Can't wait for Wrestler.
There is something about that movie that instantly grabs you -- I hope it's not too much of a downer though.
for those who can't wait....someone ripped a oscar dvd and has put it out on the interwebz already. was able to get an actual screener copy (helps to live in LA where seemingly everyone knows someone in the industry) and watched it the other night with my roommates...great great performance by rourke and great movie as well.
I will literally watch anything Aronofsky. Requiem for a Dream and the Fountain are two of my favorite movies.
Just finished watching. Great movie. Really emotional. AND I got teary eyed near the end... Spoiler I was debating with a friend whether he dies or not at the end. I think it would be better for the story if he did. Going to see it again in theaters when it comes out.
