I just could never get into Star Wars. I still can't. However, I do play the video games with my nephews.
Here is a leaked scene of Obi Wan training Anakin ... you can tell from the same animation style. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-xBSfY01nMk&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-xBSfY01nMk&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Nice puppet work, George.
I'm still confused as t what the point is after the Cartoon Network thing covering the EXACT SAME SUBJECT DURING THE EXACT SAME PERIOD. Is this different somehow?? I'll still go see it. Dammit.
I'm kinda like you.... What's the big deal about the Clone Wars? It was mentioned briefly, just ONCE in the first three movies, yet now there's been an entire movie about it, a cartoon series about it, another movie coming out, and another animated series. Seems like overkill. (and.. yeah... I still want to see it)
I think before the Prequels came out it was largely believed that those movies would focus a lot on the Clone Wars...at least that's what I thought. And then nothing except... "Begun the Clone Wars has" by Yoda in Ep II; and then they fast forward to the end of the Wars in Ep III. Wtf? So I could understand the Clone Wars series...I haven't seen it myself but have been meaning too. But this new movie seems like definite overkill. I love the Star Wars universe as much as the next fan, but when do you finally say, enough is enough.
After watching the trailer, I have to think why on earth this wasn't a part of the prequels to begin with...like they take the best parts of Ep I and combine maybe half of II to form the first prequel, then the other half of II and Clone Wars to form the second film and then you have Ep III. Or Lucas can just keep giving us bits and pieces of the whole saga to continue to bank off the franchise till the day he dies.
Not trying to be a smart ass, but how old are you? I was 8 years old in 1978 when Star Wars first came out. It was seriously a life-changing moment the first time I saw it.
Like you, I was young (9 years old) when Star Wars first came out. I would think that a younger person, who has grown up with movies containing powerful special effects, and countless science fiction "space" movies, would not view the Star Wars movies with the same perspective as you and I. Even younger folk who appreciate the achievements made by Star Wars are incapable of knowing the feeling of what it was like back then.
I was not yet 2 when it came out in 1977. Literally my earliest memory in life is my dad taking me to see Star Wars. My entire childhood was, in one capacity or another, Star Wars. I don't think anyone who didn't grow up with them can quite grasp the impact these movies had. God I hated the prequels.
Thanks for correcting it to "1977." I was four. Life changed. Will see this one too. With my wife and kids. We're certified Star Wars nuts.
