I thought this thread was going to be a history channel's "Monster quest" appreciation not an actual film. Chupacabra vs. New Jersey Devil, that would be more interesting.
I watched it, it is everything you imagine it to be. The dialog is just terrible, the acting is awfull and the special effect are ridicules. The dialog had things like: "Don't love the sea to much, it might not love you back" and "It has been frozen for a million of years, wouldn't you be horny" Most of the times you just feel ashamed for the actors. Also I believe they have like 1 small clip of the shark swimming, and they just use it like 20 times. They really recycle the small clips they made. And the plot just terrible, this was writen by someone who has never done any biological research, just terrible. I mean the way they acted when they came with the idea of Spoiler Pheromones like it was brilliant, a twelve year old would have first thought of that solution. My grilfriend and I (both graduated biologists) were shocked when they said Spoiler We must use Pheromones , because we thought they were already working on it. Furthermore how in the world did they know they had the correct substance, and why would it work on both the Shark and the octopus. But these are just comments from somebody who actually works in biological research, I cannot blame them for doing it wrong (but it does look funny). So all in all a must see
Wow, I didn't realize that this thing was already a viral hit: Gibson co-starred with actor Lorenzo Lamas in the low-budget action/adventure film Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus, produced by The Asylum and set for release on May 19, 2009.[9] The film's trailer has become a viral hit, scoring over one million hits on MTV.com and YouTube.[10] The film premiered at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. From wikipedia.
LOL, the plane attack scene: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/skYRZ_-RXtk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/skYRZ_-RXtk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Oh come on!!! who in their right mind would think this scene will actually fly with the audiences? LMAO.
What's funny is that all these giant shark movies take their cues from the book Meg, which came out like 13 years ago. The movie adaptation has been in development hell ever since, all the while similar movies have been made that pretty much steal from the book.
The only thing missing at 0:50 was his Arnold accent and holding the gun sideways. A+ for not looking where you're shooting.
they totally should have had mega shark go david caruso on that scene: mega shark: looks like condor airlines... [CHOMP!] ...just went extinct. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! certainly wouldn't have made the scene any worse.
