amy adams is so hot, I remember her when she used to be Jim's GF in the office!! (troll bait please take it...)
Saw it this weekend and I think it's probably my favorite film of the year. Excellent direction and performances with a really impressive script.
Just finished watching the movie and of all the performances, Amy Adams was miles ahead of everyone else. It reminded of Linda Fiorentino's performance from the Last Seduction but way more intense.
Good movie, but was disappointed considering the reviews. The story wasn't groundbreaking. It's one of those movies that gets outstanding reviews because of great acting, not because it's an incredible movie. They put all of these actors in roles they had no business in. Bale as an overweight, balding New Yorker? Jennifer Lawrence as a housewife to some middle-aged overweight dude? Renner as anything other than an action hero? Louis CK as a cop? No one fit in naturally to the roles they were cast in. It was a stretch. And they all pulled it off like pros. Also, if I had terminal cancer and Make a Wish asked me what I wanted, I'd ask to see Jennifer Lawrence's chest and die happy. You idiots would probably want to meet Jeremy Lin or something stupid.
Hated this movie. Stopped watching about half way through. Every character is unappealing. I find most movies that take place in this setting (70's drug disco era) to be uninteresting.
It was OK. I'd probably give it a 7.5/10 or so. Solid, but nothing spectacular. Does anyone else find Amy Adams to be a poor actress, at least in this movie? Maybe it was the stars she was next to or something, but her acting in this movie just felt... forced and fake. Everyone else was good, though.
Uh, yeah. And I was complimenting the performances all around. You know, adding something insightful to the conversation. So, sweet participation, bro.
I was afraid this would be cliché or self-indulgent, but I was pleasantly surprised. As good or better than anything in that broad punchy crime drama genre.
I went in with very high expectations considering the reviews but left a little disappointed. Still a solid movie, though.
