They need to test whether Tari can make a layup and whether Bari's chucking bricks still before they let them on a real court, we have a coach now remember.

Isn’t it generally 1st and 2nd year draft picks along with non-roster invitees?

Jabari going to show the world he's on scrub level. If he doesn't average over 25 a night in Summer League, he might not make it to year 3.

I get that, but Jabari was a starter all year last year. Tari could use these minutes more, but risk injury to guys you are supposedly counting on this year for summer league? I dont know about that.

There is really nothing to gain from SL, like literally nothing.

Unless a guy is so bad that he can't dribble or something otherwise there is nothing to gain from it at all other than it's fun to get a first look at the new rookie class.

jalen is the first 2nd-yr guy I can remember not doing Summer League for the rockets, that didn’t have like a foreign national commitment. It’s super normal for 2nd year Rockets to play in summer league. I also think it’s fun for the players. Not saying it makes sense for guys like Tari or Jabari to be playing, but that’s been the standard.

Jalen Williams and Keegan Murray are also playing in the summer league despite having big roles for their respective teams.

Here we go with this already... SMDH. Just let them play and watch the games. DANG man! Just gotta find something to complain about. The overreaction is ridiculous. They can start building chemistry with Amen and Cam. And if they dont avg 20 a game so what, please dont say they are scrubs since they are not doing that against rookies and undrafted guys out there.

I didn’t recall that Jalen didn’t play last year. I guess it’s been so long that we had high draft picks expected to be such important pieces, I just came to expect it as part of the deal.

Isn't that the whole point of summer league? For many fans this is their first time seeing their draft picks play live. That's fun in and of itself.
