its too late to make that trade now because that will ruin the whole system. kobe is fine where he is in LA. all he needs is another prolific scorer. i dont see a point in having the best player in the game today being teamed up with a group of just talented players. i cant see it mesh.tmac and kobe are not in the same category to be compared..anymore.tmac is a whole different player ever since joining yao and so is kobe ever since shaq left.

It's a no brainer to trade an injury prone TMAC with a healthy Kobe. If he want to, Kobe can be a team player as well. Last season he actually want to give more chances to his Laker teammates, but they are not good enough to take it. Rockets is different, we are full of talents :)

I went to Elsik High for all four years if I may chime that in.

For those who want Kobe here, I bet they'll tire of him after a slew of 50 point games but a borderline playoff record, if that (if we rightfully assume that we give up many quality players to get him). They'll eventually get accustomed to team mates who will tire of the Great Ball Hog act and all that...so is that what we Rockets fans would look forward too over the long haul?

In this less punishing system where flow is the key, I can see a different T-Mac who may not be as injury prone. He'll rack up points but be willing to get his team involved.

Kobe's "the best"...so what? He doesn't make his team better. What's it now in the past three years sans Shaq? No playoff series wins? Oooh.

Why don't Kobe lovers get over the fact that with more overall talent on his team last year, they won substantially LESS GAMES THAN THE ROCKETS. T-Mac helped the Rockets get many wins in the absence of Yao. There AIN'T NO WAY KOBE could do that!

I think most NBA players would rather rally around T-Mac than the Ball Hog.

Kobe fans of any stripe should just be Laker fans or anything else but a Rockets fan.

Kobe is arguably still the best player in the NBA, no doubt about that.. but no way in hell would I trade for Kobe and lose so many of our pieces that Morey worked so hard to get. Besides we already don't know how this team's chemistry is gonna be when the season starts. Why add another worry in Kobe?

Tmac isn't all that bad compared to Kobe either. They're both superstars. He's also a more graceful superstar than Kobe. From what I see through here, Tmac seems to do more for the Houston community. Plus he does cool stuff like show up at a random hs football game.

yeah definitely see your point, but i don't see that it is impossible that a trade between rockets and lakers would happen.

Kobe known for just looking out for himself. anyone live in LA and how people over there view him? maybe he's changed a bit, dunno.

hey but i am real happy tmac is on the rockets no matter what!

I think there's a 0% chance of this happening to be totally honest. Zero. Not a chance in hell.

err lakers have more overall talent? other than odam and kobe, there is not a single player i would want from their roster in place of ours.

put any player in for kobe, and lakers would not even make it to 50%, they be at the lotery for the past 3 season if kobe was not playing for them.

(Chron) If Kobe is available, the Rockets will be interested

    http://blogs.chron.com/sportsjustice/archives/2007/10/you_can_learn_a.html

GM Daryl Morey has said the first month or two of the season will be a kind of extension of training camp, of sorts, as Rick Adelman works through his various rotations and figures out what will work. The Rockets of November may be very different from the Rockets of March.

And if Kobe Bryant really is on the trading block, Morey will be one of dozens of general managers hoping to land him. It's unclear what the Lakers would be seeking, or even if there's an organizational consensus on moving him. But the Rockets would love to add the NBA's best player to their mix.

If I'm running the show, I make one player untouchable: Yao Ming. Every other player on the roster could be open for discussion. Think of a team with Yao and Kobe. How do you like the sound of that, Tim Duncan? How about you, Mark Cuban?

They only finished 1 game above .500 last season with Kobe. They were 7 games under .500 three years ago with Kobe. Of course they wouldn't win half of their games without him. No insight here, buddy.

DO NOT gut the team again for one player....

That is what put the Rockets in the hole that they just recovered from.

I would trade Tmac and maybe a PG for him, but that would be it...

The team can compete in the WC right now....don't screw it up.

I just want to add that I'm AGAINST all Kobe trades unless it keeps T-Mac,Yao on the team.

And this is just Richard Justice's opinion - no direct quotes for a reason.
