personally from the perspective of the rockets, they will def. do it. kobe brings more hype. he's better individually than tmac right now (though i think this yr tmac can prove otherwise). plus, then tmac can go to a team and then EXPLODES individually again for 30+ppg and then he can regain his hype. lakers would still be a playoff team w/ tmac b/c tmac is a better team player (odom would def. flourish) it works for both partners if u look at it that way. then we can see a houston v. lakers in the first round. then the tmac-led lakers can pull the upset since james/francis and another player + pick would prollie go w/ the lakers. the rockets remain yao + kobe.
I knew you do not want to do it in your side. In the real world, it is not going to happen too. If Lakers are really going to trade Kobe, the Bulls are the team they can get the most, and both teams are not going to lose much too.
thats like getting Jordan for Clyde Drexler of course you pull that trigger the dude is the greatest player in the world.....T mac is a very good player, but im sorry he dosn't have " IT" like Kobe does if you know what i mean.T mac is on the downside of his career and is more of a jump shooter when kobe is a complete player. Why are rockets fans so blind???? You always take the best player in the world if you can get him !!! I would trade him for wade as well.
i'd also trade yao for kobe.along with bynum and kwame.they could get shane and mike james along with yao.this line up works for me alston/francis at pg,kobe at the 2 ,t-mac at 3,scola at four and bynum or brown at 5.it is a sick line up and kobe would approve that
well if it was that easy. if i can trade to make this team better, i trade tmac for kobe (kobe's the best player) and yao for duncan (yao has not shown me he can dominate a damn playoff game). kobe + duncan => championships so if it was THAT easy, i'd do that in a heartbeat. but no it isn't. tmac and yao are top 7-8 players in the L and potentially top 5 both if they play to their potential. so these are our cards. make them work.
Some questions about a Kobe-Yao team: What if Kobe doesn't mesh well with Yao? What if Kobe then takes possessions from Yao? What if Kobe then makes Yao look like a scrub? What if Kobe then requests that Yao be traded? What if Kobe then turns the Rockets into a one-man team? What if Kobe then starts losing games? What if Kobe then complains about losing? What if Kobe himself asks to be traded?
apparently, kobe is gonna be on a radio show here in socal to talk about this. bucher just reported that this was supposed to be in house and now has leaked. so a trade might happen but his first 2 choices are chicago and dallas.
Mac's still good. Uninspired and lazy though. I'm blaming the media. They always ask Mac questions about the system and his teammates and never about Mac's performance. I just wish the media would just ask Mac bluntly, "When are you gonna start playing like a superstar?"
I'm sorry to alot of T-mac fans, I love t-mac, but he's not the same player. If the lakers would comply, I'd pull the trigger. Kobe is too good.
If it's for T-Mac, SF3 or MJ, another player, and 3 first round draft picks. C - Yao/Mutombo PF- Scola/Hayes SF-Battier/Bonzi SG-Kobe/Harris/Head (maybe) PG-Alston/SF3 or MJ/Brooks HC-Adelman That team would win 65 -71 games, and team wouldn't have to be healthy the whole year. Technically, we wouldn't need third scorer, since Bonzi and MJ (SF3) would be coming off the bench. Even though, Kobe would have some (possible) drama....he couldn't go out and score 60 or 70 points a game, because it's too many other players on the team who need the ball and the motion offense sorta prevents one player from dominating the ball. He would have to settle for 23 to 27 ppg, sort of like he did in 03-04 season with Malone and Payton. I don't know how that would work out, but overall the team would instantly become a juggernaut. We would've even breeze through the West, I think the only team that would significant trouble is the Spurs. I don't think the Suns would have enough defense to stop us....especially not shutting down Kobe and Yao at the same time and stopping everybody else....especially when one of our lesser scorers, like Scola practically embrassed Amare in the FIBA. They would almost have to pick their poison. Dallas, might give us little trouble, but I don't think would beat us, especially when Kobe almost single handedly beat them in one game. Kobe with the best center in league, Euro MVP, top 5 defensive SF/SG, and Bonzi-SF3 (MJ) to spare on the bench would be pretty an abomination for the rest of league. This Rockets team we have know is pretty nasty. We've got 2 players who average 25 ppg on bad team, 3 who could average 20 ppg, and possibly an extra one being Scola). That's how good our team is this year.
While the Lakers do want to rebuild, this isn't ever going to happen. Ever. There's a bigger chance of me making out with every poster on this thread.
If Kobe goes to Dallas, I think I'll vomit all over the place. But come to think about it, Kobe would fit in well here in snob city Dallas, Tx.
Dream all you want; it's not up to you. Kobe said he is willing to play for 3 teams and 3 teams only: Suns, Mavs, Bulls. He has a clause which will allow for such a thing to happen. ESPN mentioned Dallas has offered Terry and Howard + others. I'm sure it's in the best interest for the Lakers to deal with Chicago on this one (and I hear elsewhere that they are the front runner as of right now). I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas does something extra to land him, if they are really interested to begin with. If you didn't already know, they real close in getting Garnett. I'll just wait and see how this unfolds, if at all.
