I guess that there was, is, and will be a smoke screen for these fans vs those fans. If kobe comes here, then we will have some KOYs here soon, HaHa. Anyhow, I like this Rox very much, hoping that they can go very far...

I never denied I wasn't a Yao Ming fan first. See, unlike you T-Mac only fans, I would not be bothered about a Yao Ming to LA trade for Kobe.

Then I would root for the LA Lakers. :)

Why do I root for Yao Ming? Because he's an oustanding guy, and someone I want to root for. If Yao Ming was the typical NBA jerk like Kobe, or a T-Mac or a Steve Francis, I'd say Bye bye also.

What I want to know is, why are you T-Mac only fans such fans of T-Mac, anyway? He has a checkered past. Who cares if he was once athletic and talented?

The guy is mentally weak. Yao himself said of T-Mac that he was "unstable".

Why be a fan of an unstable mentally weak guy?

T-Mac, the guy who complains about his safety in New Orleans but then tries to cast himself as a humanitarian in Darfur because he spent ONE week there, with a camera crew. Uh huh.

T-Mac, the guy who brags "Its on Me" before last year's playoffs, and then cries, weeping in public. Uh huh.

T-Mac, the guy who demanded to be traded from Toronto Raptors, and then later, admitted publicly, that he didn't care about some games while playing for Orlando. Uh huh.

T-Mac, the guy who calls himself unselfish but whose life is an example of the typical selfish NBA player.

No wonder Yao calls T-Mac "Unstable".

Are T-Mac only fans stupid or something? Is there something in the water they drink? Why root for this guy? I'd understand it if you guys root for him because he's a Houston Rocket. But you guys are rooting for him as much or more than I am rooting for Yao Ming. That makes no sense to me at all.

It's more justifiable to root for a Yao Ming than a T-Mac.

Now..if T-Mac was like Mutombo..then that's a different story. I think Dekembo Mutombo is as awesome of a guy as Yao Ming. I also like Hakeem Olajuwon. I wish these guys were in their early 20s so I could root for them. But T-Mac? Yawn. Boring. And Dumb.

If Hakeem was 25, I'd honestly rename my screen name to "HakeemFan2007".

But right now, I'm a YaoFan2007, and proud to be one.

I hate to admit it, but...I mean I watch tmac and at times I see the best player in the league. kobe, on the other hand just seems to want it that much more than he does. as for yao, he's the best center in the league, and I think a top 5 player -- but again, as much as I feel like yao wants it he doesn't seem to command respect the way kobe does. that's what makes the guy so good.

why are we fans of tmac?

    1) he's a great individual and human being. he goes beyond what he has to do as an athlete. right now, he's behind dikembe mutombo in terms of philanthropy in my opinion. he has donated more to houston ever since he came here more than any other athlete in houston outside of deke. he has helped built basketball gyms, just built a new library in an elementary school, and has just renovated a study hall in a school this past off season. beyond that, he just went to Darfur and now is doing a documentary to talk about the problems.

    2) he's honest. yes, sometimes you hate the crap that comes out of his mouth but he's honest. most celebrities aren't honest. he does not care if people like you think he's weak but he's gonna speak what's on his mind at that time. even yao does not do that and sure diplomacy is a great thing, but i like ppl who speak what's on their minds.

    3) he's a great player. if he puts his mind to it, he IS the best player in the L. u say he doesn't have the determination, but i saw a player who many said would be out of the L in 3 yrs by his old coach in toronto but now has put himself in position to be mentioned as one of the best players in the HISTORY of hte league if he wins a little bit.

    4) he's unselfish. point blank, EVERY player who has played with tmac has NEVER said anything bad about him. although he has not won a playoff series, u hear analysts like bill simmons saying tmac is the player most players want to play with.

    5) he has the best basketball talent i have ever seen :D . there is nothing he cannot do on the court.

but most importantly, he's a greater individual than he is a basketball player and that's the primary reason. dare i say if he would avg 10 pts and we win the ring, he would do that. he has sacrificed his game when he first came to houston just so he can facilitate yao although yao was not even a top 25 player at that time. i mean, you come off 2 straight scoring titles and do that? that shows your unselfishness.

and that's why i'm a fan of tracy mgrady

"In Rome, do as the Romans do."

You're both morons. Yao_fan_2007 proclaims himself a YOF, and doublehh03 proclaims himself a McGrady-only fan. You're on CLUTCHFANS, not YaoM*ngMania or whatever McGrady fan forum there is. Even if you think that way, it would be good to not let everyone know.

doublehh03, I think you know why you got knocked back down to rookie after getting promoted to membership.

i'm a mcgrady fan yes, but who said i wasn't a rocket fan? i've posted about rafer, francis, bonzi, battier as much as anybody here.

i've stated my reasons why i like tracy mcgrady. i can state reasons why i like steve francis (his heart, determination, and no fear attitude).

i like tracy mcgrady the most on this team does not mean i'm not a rocket fan. he's just my fav player on the team and in the L that's all :D

I'd rather root for Tmac than Kobe. Tmac is just so much easier to relate to as a person.

Which would make a better story, Tmac winning this year's championship, or Kobe? I think this team would have a good shot with either player, but I'd MUCH rather watch Tmac accomplish it.

exactly, with kobe, u can only enjoy his basketball skills. he's truly one of the best basketball players i have ever seen and i enjoy watching him play.

but beyond that, i think even most laker fans don't care for him as an individual. he's cocky. he's arrogant. he's 2-faced (portrayed a pristine golden boy image then goes out and cheats on his newly wedded wife). he flip flops more than kerry.

i'm not saying that's a way to hate him b/c let's be real, EVERY athlete cheats on their wives.

but the way he came into the league and portrayed himself as a "perfect poster child" who never went to clubs, who never goes out of his room on the road, basically who does nothing except be a good boy.

and then he went out and did something like that? that's why i don't like him. then he has the nerve to ask why do ppl hate kobe bryant?

um, no that isn't one time. it's been reported he's been with multiple women besides her but that's the only time he got caught w/ that white girl reporting it.

again, i'm not against that b/c most men do cheat.

but again, i'm talking about the IMAGE that he portrayed when he first came into the L.

the image that he portrays now is completely different. even laker fans recognize this. they had a ton of articles during the trial about his flip flopping image.

did u read what i post earlier? i praised kobe as a basketball player and he's one of the best of all time. nobody with a brain could deny that. and i enjoy watching him play as i have enjoyed anybody in the history of the game.

the stuff i said about him are about him as a human being so 2 different things.

yeah i know what you said but i felt it was stupid to talk about who he sleeps wit and what he does outside of the basketball court at the end of the day it's about the team and i think kobe would be a great addtion to the team i could care less about what he does wit his penis
