ESPN reports that kobe is physically and mentally worn down w/ the lakers. i guess he's not as mentally tough as we thought he is but looks like he'll be traded this yr or next yr. he won't finish his career as a laker.
Kobe showed in the FIBA cup that he is the best player in the world. He makes other guys better, plays lock-down defence, leads on the floor...he can do anything on the basketball court that needs to be done. If the Rockets coulkd trade Tracy and 2 or 3 other guards or swing men and get Kobe...it would be a smart basketball move IMO if the object is to win now (and it is).
what are u talking about? carmelo was the best scorer on that team and lebron james was the best overall player on that team. kobe was the best defender though. and when you have THAT much talent on the floor, it's not hard to look good. melo, bron, kobe, kidd, howard, amare all looked great, esp. bron and melo, those 2 outshined everyone.
I think we should worry more about what our 15 man roster is gonna be before the season starts rather than worrying about any blockbuster trades involving Kobe.
Wierder things have happened... Take a look at this and decide for yourself if these so called rumors are of any substance. It is an interview with Phil Jackson about after today's practice. http://www.nba.com/lakers/multimedia/practice_071016.html To me, it seems like Kobe is as good as gone. Let's just hope its not Dallas.
I would never trade T-Mac for Kobe. Maybe keep our core, and trade everyone else and whatever draft picks they want lol.
tmac talks about all this stuff, INCLUDING if kobe is better than him: http://www.xtrasportsradio.com/cc-c...dio.com&SITE_ID=727&STATION_ID=KLAC-AM&TRACK= patrick put him on the spot: asking if he's better than kobe, if he has a killer instinct... good interview
and from that interview, he predicted he'll get 25, 6, 6. patrick was trying to get him to say he'll avg 30ppg and he declined
There is very small chance that Kobe land in Houston. To play with Kobe, team mates needs to be mentally tough to withstand him, work with him, thrive with him, win his respect. Current Houston team has many softees. So even Laker/Houston work out the deal, Kobe may decline.
Kobe and Tracy earn about the same salary, but I don't think that the Lakers would want Tracy straight up for Kobe.
I dunno, I would say Houston doesn't have softees but they do have players with big ego's but they are pretty tough too. Bonzi, Francis, and Mike James have all proven to be headcases at one time or another. I doubt Kobe would decline to play with the best center in the game and depending on who we trade we may still be a deep team w/ toughness to boot.
then why didn't he say houston as one of his teams? if so, the lakers woudl pursue it b/c houston can offer them more than anyone right now. a superstar in tracy, the best role player in battier, and an abundance of PGs or the best unknown in scola. we offer the best package right now out of anyone.
My most popular belief is that the Lakers will continue to try as hard as they can to trade Kobe to an Eastern Conference team before trading him to some team here in the Western Conference if they traded him at all. The only reason the Lakers trade him to the Rockets for T-Mac would be that it is the best deal they can find on the table. However, Kobe never mentioned the Rockets as a team he would approve a trade to. By the way, I don't recall the Rockets and Lakers making a deal with each other at all since the Rockets moved back to the Western Conference in 1980.
Really nice interviev with Tracy. 25/6/6 here you go But really, it'll be completly different season for him.
An uncle rumour? His tio was probably ordering a Big Mac on sesame Buns y Cola... picked a #1 meal 'deal'....
