if this trade does happen, yao is not as effective, the team loses in the first round again as u have to trade a few more players w/ tmac for kobe, how would the fans feel?

while the lakers (who have some good players in odom and fisher, now u add in francis/james with tmac) WILL make the playoffs and might face the rox in the first round?

how y'all feel if they lose to the tmac-lakers?

if u live in LA like i do, NOBODY in this organization respects or likes kobe anymore. and kobe kept lying his ass off. a reporter asked him if he had talked to bynum to settle this and kobe said yes. then that reporter asked bynum and bynum said he never talked to kobe. it's not a good look w/ kobe right now in LA. that's why buss is gonna trade him.

if kobe comes here, ur not gonna have the depth that u have now b/c the lakers are gonna want tmac + francis/james + a pick or possibily scola/shane while the rockets will get back kobe + kwame brown or some scrub to make the money work. (the lakers are gonna ask for A LOT)

then it becomes kobe + yao again w/ very little depth.

so go ahead and make the trade. the ppl who support it now will weep.

No matter how great a player is, he need a good supporting cast or another all star. Kobe didn't have any during the past 3 years. Remember TMac in Orlando?

The point is what's the price to get Kobe? If only TMac + some ready-to-cut players, I'll go for it. I like TMac, but I feel nervous when TMac's in the court, because every moment he could fall down and injure his back.

Yes, we're talking about winning a team game and not one-on-one.

ever since he has patterson, has he have ANYTHING wrong with his back?

if you're talking about pre-patterson, i would make the trade in a heartbeat b/c back then tmac was vulnerable.

now after that first preseason game where he went down HARD after a dunk and got up like it's NOTHING, i know nothing is gonna be wrong w/ his back that patterson can't fix w/ a normal session.

that's why i feel if he goes to LA, he'll explode to a 30ppg scorer again and a lot of rockets fans like me will regret trading him. tmac will get the whole offense all to himself but has odom as the initiator.

then kobe coming here will resort to a 24-25ppg scorer again and we'll say where's the 33-34ppg we traded for?

most ppl are obsessed w/ kobe here b/c of his scoring. remember, he can score all this b/c he's taking 27-28 shots AVERAGE a game. he's NOT gonna do that w/ yao.

while w/ the lakers, tmac will avg around 24-25 shots like he did in orlando and avg a high ppg again.

    Totally agree.

Tracy has had no problems with his back since he found Patterson. Patterson really knew what to do with Tracy. He knew what the problem was and he knew what would help T-Mac.

And T-Mac is now visitin' him often just to be sure his back are ok.

I alo think he can be a good scorer this year. He maybe won't attempt more shoots but he will have a lot better positions.

tmac when he had the WHOLE offense to himself last yr while still RELATIVELY OUT OF SHAPE put up 29.9ppg, 5rpg, 7.5apg.

now this yr he's slimmer, healthier, motivated, and u give him the WHOLE offense??

the only yr kobe avg a lot of pts w/ shaq was when shaq was out for half a season and kobe went on a 40+ pt tear to avg 30ppg. other than that, w/ shaq, he avg around 22-25 ppg.

This yeear will be wholly different.

First of all T-Mac had all summer to spend, so he didn't have to stay at home and rested his back, he practiced. As he said, it always takes a little time to get in a shape. Man, he only scored 1 fg in the preseason. But every player has the preseason to find your "best shape".

And what is very important Tracy won't have to do everything on offense. He will concern first on scorin'. He won;t get as many pick'n'rools, he will not handle the ball so much time. He will play like a real scorer and that's what he likes and what he should do.

An insurance policy does not give you a new superstar if his back goes out.

Kobe is a proven winner. T-mac is not. Even though Kobe played with Shaq, without him Lakers wouldn't have won those 3 seasons. Tracy needs to stop talking and get something accomplished. He keeps saying he'd get us out of the first round, but it never happened. I know he's not the only fault, but he shouldn't have talked like he's that good. Tracy is also injury prone. Can you imagine if Rockets make it deep this season and his back starts acting up?Between Francis and Tracy, I pick Tracy. But between Tracy and Kobe, of course Kobe. Regardless, I don't think Rockets can get Kobe.

Kobe got Shaq, Phil Jackson, Fisher.

    Tmac got Juwon, JVG, Alston.

    that's fate.

I find it difficult deciding weather to have Tmac on the Rockets team or Kobe. Tmac fits in with the team and is a better team player then Kobe. But then again, Kobe is one of, if not, the best player in the league and when you play him with one of the best big men in the league, you know it's a formidable team.

Kobe can take over games when other players aren't hitting their shots, Kobe can take the clutch shot and hit it and doesn't have the injury history that Tmac has.

Tmac was great last season when Yao went down but maybe he should of taken over some of the games in the Utah series.

Tmac deserves a chance with this team to see what he can do but it will be interesting to see what the Rockets front office do with this if they do have a solid interest in Kobe.

Those of us who agree with a Kobe-Tmac trade seem to be over-emphasizing Kobe's greatness as a player (top 3 in the league I reckon), but also overlooking or simply failing to mention the fact he is a also a selfish, back-stabbing, self-centred, egocentric, sly ,arrogant, attention seeking drama queen (and probally a rapist as well), whose trade to Houston would, without a shadow of doubt in my mind, destroy the good team chemistry and setting we have now and take away the necessary pieces (i.e. battier, wells, SF3, Scola, and MJ etc) to win a championship.

I am not surprised the trade idea has been discussed but to see a good portion of Rockets' fans would actually like to trade Tmac for Kobe is disturbing and disheartening.

I'd rather keep TMAC. Thank you very much.

    100% agreed.

People earlier in the thread were saying that tmac was a bad person because he didnt give a signature to their kids. KOBE RAPED SOMEONE
