I agree. This team has added a lot of talent but we don't have a deep pool of shooters. Head is a shooter and that's why I favor keeping him over Alston. Alston gives us ball handling and that's pretty much it. He does give you a good contrasting point guard compared to James and Francis, but he's not worth keeping it he can get us a good PF like Haslem.

That doesn't mean anything to me. I am curious to see what he can do outside of assistant coach Gundy's stale system, but his regular season stats mean diddly squat if he can't hit shots in the playoffs.

other than one late t.o. Rafer played a dam good game 7

I am happy with a James/Francis/Brooks combo over Rafer and the crap from last season but don't bash Rafer for game 7 and oh yeah

Rafer in the 2007 playoffs>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Luther in the 2007 playoffs

    It's got to be Skip.

James and Francis both need time at the point. If there's anything left, I want it going to Aaron Brooks.

Bye bye Skip, and yes, he does have value ... probably not great value, but he is a tradeable player.

As far as Luther goes, we should wait for a fantastic trade opportunity, or just keep him.

If we had to trade them both for an impact player, I'd do that as well.

yeah he definitely improved from year one to two. i don't consider luther's ceiling all that high, but his one strength may be somthing we don't want to underestimate. it remains to be seen if last season was a fluke shooting the ball, but if he makes a career living in the top 10 of 3-point shooting percentage than he's got plenty of value on any roster.

i think rafer has more value than people give him credit for but i wouldn't rather have him than james or francis. the problem is that he's a very different player from either of them but probably too good to just sparingly play.

    So true!

Career 40% 3pt guys don't just grow on trees - they become pretty valuable (Voshon Lenard) - Head isn't the least athletic player in the league either.

I know there's a lot of talk on the BBS about 'trade Head', but I'd be highly surprised if it was on Morey's radar.

IMO- trade Alston not Head. When you have guys that are going to draw double teams (Yao, T-Mac), you need shooters to hit the open shot.

When you have slashing scorers who are going to penetrate and collapse the defense (Francis, James, Scola?- I don't know that much about his game) you need open shooters to kick the ball out to that can hit the open shot.

We have added several scorers, but not really shooters.

So who are the shooters on the roster? Battier, Head, and James maybe Novak? Head I think has a lot of value on this team, although probably in fewer minutes. Alston is neither a shooter nor a scorer so he is much more expendable.

These 's one thing only Rafer can do in this team, control the pacing, setup offense in a half-court game, if you dont count Tmac. so I vote Head.
