Take away the media googles and let's really take a look at Dwight Howard. And if you don't see something really over hyped you just got played like Melo played the Knicks. Good defensively? How about because they have no other big man on that team.. They had some great players surrounding him.. Carter, Lee was there, they have sharp shooters in Orlando... This guy is not worth gutting a team for... He's still go no offensive game.

what you said has your points. But in this league, besides Gasol, which big man is better than Dwight ?

People still don't release you need at least 2 all stars to get any where in the NBA.
Not Dwight's fault he doesn't have any help, it's time for Orlando to help him out, or he will be gone.

He's going to the Lakers. Bynum and 2 first round picks should get it done.

We do need a center but we can't give up our whole team because, well, we will have a center and no team. Thereforeeee, KEEP Kevin Martin as well as Patterson.

    Trade: Scola,Hill,Budinger, and 2 1st rd picks.

Dwight Howard to Rockets = Champiomship. (Assuming we get a decent SF)

You keep Martin at all costs. It'd be interesting if Martin is ever paired with Howard. Carter, Richardson, etc are all high volume scorers it'd be interesting to see a guy as efficient as Martin being paired with Dwight. It will probably have to happen in another scenario besides Houston. Sad but true.

A talented big man is the singlemost important piece in establishing a contenting team. Yes, you can win without one (see dynasty Bulls and maybe this year's Heat), but your odds go up dramatically with that piece filled in. And that goes doubly in this era of basketball, since there is such a dearth of bigs. I mean, look at Bynum, who is basically an immobile stiff but is still a valuable game changer (until his knees buckle LOL). Howard is no Shaq, Olajuwon, or even Robinson, but he is the best big in the game today. For that, teams should rightly overpay.

I'm thinking Howard to LA sounds good. LA Clippers that is. Imagine him, Blake, and Deandre on the same team. Yipes.

I think when you put him next to a guy like Gasol. I'm saying swap Bynum out and let him play along Gasol in that Lakers lineup. I can see him not being able to do the same things Bynum can simply because he is kind of undersized or can't play against people bigger than him. I've seen him have way too many issues playing against legit bigs even an aging Shaq to consider him a centerpiece of any team.

The Clippers technically can create a real attractive offer but there is no way I can see any player in his position prefer a trade to the Clips especially with the 2010 FA fiasco. There are much better managed and competitive teams that would create a better package overall for Howard to want to go to.

If Howard becomes available, teams with one the top 3 picks in the upcoming draft will try their hardest to trade for him. I think the Washington Wizards would be slobbering at the chance to pair Wall with Howard.

Why would Orlando want Bynum and scrubs for Howard? The Magic can find a better trade than that, or simply let Howard stay in Orlando another year.

Orlando will require someone to take Gilbert's carcass.

This, and maybe throw in Miller and try to get Turkoglu or Richardson at SF if possible.

    Howard/Thabeet/Yao
    Patterson/Hayes/Cousin
    Turkoglu/Lee/T-Will
    Martin/Lee/#14 Pick
    Lowry/Dragic

We would still have youth, plus be contenders in no time!!

You consider Carter and a rookie Lee great players?

    Rofl

Carter was way past his prime, lee isn't even close to being a great player now, much less as a rook.

So you're saying Dwight wouldn't be a franchise player that you would build a team around? seriously?
