Dwight Howard is the best center in the league everyone on the Rockets is expendable for a future Hall of Famer. He's not coming here though, he will end up in LA.

i would trade anything and everything for him. Ideally it would be great to not give up kmart, but that is unlikely and certainly not a deal breaker

I predict that NJ will trade Brook Lopez and filler for him.

Got to bring in some other talent to attact Howard. It's up to DM to gut the roster and bring in Chris Paul and Howard.

Probably impossible, but you gotta thing big to win it all

We can technically trade our #14 this year and next year's 2012 because the back to back rule only applies for future years and 2011 pick is not factored in as such

It matters very little what Orlando would take for him. They cannot get fair value from any team, and the only reason to trade him is to avoid him walking for free in free agency.

We need a massive campaign to get Howard here. I mean, not just telling him how great Houston is, but reshaping the franchise around him so he knows that he's going to have a chance to be acclaimed as one of the greatest ever. Convince Hakeem to become Dwight's weekly tutor. Houston has the best history with big men in the league. Convince Dwight we are going to do everything legal to make his legacy even better than Hakeem, Moses, Yao, Shaq, Wilt, Kareem, or Russell.

LA is enticing, but they are going to have a very hard time fitting him under the salary cap. That's one of our advantages. Another is that we have a younger core that's better positioned to contend with Dwight.

Imagine a team with Dwight, Lowry, and PatPat. That's already better than Orlando's current team. It would be nice to keep KMart but we can live if we have to trade him. Filling out the other positions with solid value players is a problem perfectly suited to Morey's skills.

Bingo! This is what I am talking about.
Dwight - PatPat - Bud - Lee - Lowry <-- this team is #4 or 5 in the west!!!

Giving up K-Mart? K-mart is pretty much the only bargaining chip we have to make Dwight even think about coming here. You see how horrible he's doing in these playoffs because his teammates can't make a 3?

I'd take Arenas and Redick's contract if if it netted Houston D. Howard.

Exactly...its laughable that people think DH is going to give a team time to build a team around him...The guy is ready to win now...he's not going to wait for more than half a season. In the west, you can't do that though. He'll want to know he's coming to a complete team needing just a minor tweak.

Gotta keep Lowry, Martin, bud and either scola or PP, at the very least. Otherwise Howard will wait and walk. You can't take Arenas unless you absolutely sure you're a contender, otherwise DH will leave and houston will have Arenas at 20 mill a ayear...

Bynum + Artest for DH + whatever
younger is an euphemism for immature / not battle-tested

seems like LA can't lose....they either win a ring this year or start the process of trading for DH to win it next year...and the year after that.
