If they have to trade him, they will want someone or a draft pick that can become the a superstar. They won't want a bucket full of above average players.

I guess that's reasonable, but I would hate to see Martin go... But I know a guy like Dwight won't likely come cheap.

So why would Dwight want to come to a depleted Houston team?

you tell them they can have anything they want. but they dwight tells them he won't sign there with a depleted team. it comes down to where dwight chooses to go. like all other superstars, he's going to choose to play with another superstar.

If you were Dwight Howard, would you choose Houston?

It's really Dwight's decision where he wants to go, and Orlando will do their best to keep him in Orlando.

If Dwight is traded, my gut feeling is that he's going to either L.A. or NYC.

The Rockets need to get our superstar from the draft. That is the only realistic way.

For the last time, Howard will not want to come to a depleted team. If you take away K. Mart and Scola, who will be left to help him with the scoring. The last thing he wants to do is come to a rebuilding situation. If they agree to it, trade Scola, Bud/T will, Hill/Patterson and picks.

They have been for a few years. They just keep making bad trades, yet they're still a top seed.

i don't think he is going to LA or NYC.

not LA because they would have to give up way too much for him, whereas him next to stoudemire is not a thing that Dwight would like

so will Houston be an instant contender (top 4 team in the west) with

Howard, Hayes
Scola, NBDL callup
Terrence Williams, scrub
Courtney Lee, 2nd round pick
Lowry, Dragic

is that team better than
Westbrook
Harden
Durant
Ibaka
Perkins

A pipe dream but

I think you have to keep Martin to make him want to play here. His problem in Orl is that he doesn't have much support. Martin would make Howards life a lot easier, there is no player that plays with Howard who is near as consistent as Kmart. If he comes here and makes it to the WCF his first year he would probably resign. I think you try and give Orlando all the young pieces you can, how many teams can match what we can offer?

Pat (centerpiece of trade)
Thabust
Twill

Then with a third team, not sure who needs a PF, you trade Scola for more young pieces or expirings to go to Orlando. Throw in some picks.

Can any team beat that offer? Orlando gets a bunch of young pieces and can start rebuilding.

Lowry
Martin
(hopefully another SF)
Hayes
Howard

With Dragon Bud Lee Hill coming off the bench would be top 4 in the west I believe no problem. That interior defense would be #1 in the league and Martin Lowry can compete with any other combo.

Anyways why would Orlando want Martin or Scola? If they trade Howard they are going into rebuild mode. Let them keep that sorry support cast around to get them 2 top 3 picks to start over.

I never said he was

What's the point up giving up all the talent to get a center? Especially a center who wants to win now? It would be stupid to acquire him to play on a team that can't contend.

not if you're giving up the talent that suits him best...no reason to give him so many picks and talent. Kmart alone is a huge pick up for them, not as great as DH obviously, but Kmart should be the major part of the trade, one more young player at most and a pick or two.

We can deal giving up PP and keeping scola because DH's defense is so significant, but you can't give up your top two 3 pt shooters too. You need at least bud to stay to help space things out.

That being said, i'd rather give up scola instead of martin. Give them Lee instead of PP. PP can also hit the jumper to give DH space in the paint and he's better at crashing the offensive boards off the move than scola.

Not that either will happen though...Arenas' contract will kill any deal.

Best friends. Howard was upset when he was traded to New Jersey.

Better Idea. shut down Scola and Martin this season so they heal up whatever injury they have. We play a line-up of Budinger, Lowry, Hayes, C.Lee, Patpat. We will have a losing record, but not a horrific record either, just worse than this season. We will probably get into top 10 picks, or even higher. Our young talents get TONS of playing time, and develope into good role players.

We use that top 7-10 pick and newly developed TWill, PatPat, Budinger to lure in Howard.

Once we get Howard, we reactivate KMart and Scola who are now rested up and ready to go.

Beast of a team.

scola
bud
thabeet
picks

for

howard
bad contract

if the magic trade dwight, theyre gunna be in instant rebuild mode so they arent gunna have use for martin.

Howards will have martin scoring with him, lowry getting the ball to him, and maybe even yao backing him up with 6-10 min per game. solid bench of dragic patpat and yao with clee as 6th man

plus clee and howard are best friends :)

if we do pull this off however, no matter who we trade, we have to get deep into the playoffs next year, no excuses. Howard WILL NOT stay with us and will eventually march to NY and create a second superteam with amare and anthony
