Trading either Harden or Dwight is a suicide mission, it's delusional to push for on the board

This team with Harden and Howard is unwatchable most nights. No one is happy.

Sorry, Morey's and Les' experiment of contending without hitting rock bottom is a failure. Like it or not, this is rock bottom. Not the record, but the way we play.

The earlier we admit it, the earlier we can rebuild.

Fire the damn coach. The entire staff needs to go. If a coach can't help this team, then blow it all up

I say trade them both. I would consider howard because he can anchor a defense. Harden lost the mvp last year and didn't work harder he got discouraged and proclaim he was the mvp and didn't work in the offseason on anything. Then he does not believe in being a two way player sg in the nba is one position that a player has to be elite on defense. You are suppose to switch with pgs and be able to guard them as well. I just don't see someone taking us to the promise land being so unmotivated. His game relies on fouls. The league got the notice not to call fouls for this guy. Also why go after a point guard if this guy needs the ball in his hands. Unless he is willing to respect the game of basketball by doing what is necessary of him.

People wanna keep this team as is and get a new coach. You run a HUGE risk though. If you re-sign Howard to the 4 or 5 year contract he's gonna want and a new coach comes in and can't get it to work between the two. You're **** outta luck. You'll waste away all of Hardens prime trying to make something work that we found out during the first 3 years they were together and didn't create any sort of chemistry. Creating chemistry with a guy you've played with for 3 years can happen without even trying but these two didn't try to create chemistry. These guys are not on the same page. It's soooo obvious. BUT this is like the Shaq and Kobe relationship. They need eachother to win so something will have to give. It's a huge risk though.

It depends on what Morey and Les' long term plan is. If they truly believe this roster needs just a few tweaks and a new coaching staff in order to turn things around, and they're reasonably certain Dwight will resign here for a 4 yr/80 mil offer as they're rumored to be preparing, then I suppose it makes sense to hang onto both.

If however they feel this team is going nowhere as currently constructed and they're looking at more of a rebuild than retool, then you deal Dwight ASAP. You get something for him now before he potentially walks this offseason and you wind up with nothing(aside from capspace that no quality free agent will fill).

Harden>>>>> Wiggins. And don't see how Wiggins will improve that much to reach superstar levels.

The major problem with that team, is we have the same problem we had with T-Mac/Yao. We have our superstars surrounded by garbage. There is no one other than the two stars we trot out that can hurt you. We love having an interior center that protects the rim, but we never put a lights out shooter with him to take away the double team and hacking like Yao and Dwight have to put up with. T-Mac and Harden can be lights out shooters but it's easy to rotate your double teams from your center to your ball dominate shooting guard, especially when you bring the trap late.

It's not just Dwight or Harden, it's their help mates. We have a lot of brick masons on this team. We don't need another star; there is only one basketball. We need a tall point guard (6'5 6'6) who can shoot lights out when Harden passes. When he is confident in you he will pass the ball.
We need the same in a sf (6'8-6'9), and pf (6'10-7'0).
    Beal/Horford/Gasol
    Crawford/Deng/Anderson
This is along with keeping DMo and Capella. Some of these guys have been or should've been all stars, but I think would work great next to Howard and Harden. Whenever we go all out for one guy, everybody weights for that guy to decide. After they chose, not us, The rest of the FA's sign contracts over the next few days and we don't have time to regroup and pick anyone who can really help us.

/thread. The supporting cast of "specialist" are not very special. We all see what the Rockets are when they are hitting shots.

Keep Harden and Howard. Shuffle role players and coaches.

    Great post OP. Truth.

I wouldn't mind this at all. If they keep the coaches and start Corey Brewer next year I might gather a mob and burn down Toyota Center, lol.

No.... Overall they have better players than Tracy and Yao ever did. Ariza has championship experience and had stellar play everywhere else he was. Lawson was awesome in Denver, Terry was incredible in Dallas, and Thorton was a better shooter and overall player than any of the then team's support cast. It all boils down to the awful infrastructure that is the Rockets current coaching staff.

Aaron Brooks, Ron Artest, Von Wafer, and, Shane Battier all played better than anything we have now. Atleast Luther Head could hit his shots.

OP is correct with his Carmelo Denver theory, but that would be what would happen if we trade Harden. Dwight is another story, as he is past his prime and the return we could get for him would far outweigh what he brings to the team mentally and on the court.
