If Rudy wants a European player so badly, all he has to do is look down toward the end of his bench. I've always thought these comparisons (EG or Gasol) were idiotic. Gasol is older and has considerably more professional experience that EG. Why not compare him to where a few other young NBA stars were in their second years -- guys who, like EG, had no previous pro time and little or no college time: PTS FG% RB BS Griffin 8.4 39.1 5.6 2.1 D. Miles 9.5 48.1 5.5 1.3 T. McGrady 9.3 43.6 5.7 1.3 T. Chandler 8.3 52.4 5.1 1.2 R. Lewis 8.2 48.6 4.1 0.4 K. Brown 8.0 46.7 5.9 1.3 Harrington 6.6 45.8 3.2 0.2 E. Curry 6.4 50.6 3.4 0.4 J. O'Neal 4.5 48.5 3.4 1.0 EG is either about the same or better than all the others in every category except shooting percentage. Then again, during their second year, NOBODY on that list was half the defender EG is now. And EG's FG% would be higher if he weren't called on to shoot the 3 so much.
griffen was superb against the wolves man, that was one of the best defensive efforts in a long while on KG by anyone, he made KG think twice on he's shot almost everytime down the floor. griffen really reminds me of theo ratliff with a superior offensive game, him and a ming tandom down the years will be a monster defensive front court. i dont wanna dog mobley, but he's shot selection is a huge worry the guy takes shots that arent there and he disrupts the rockets more then he helps it, my opinion is if anyone is on the trading block should be mobley.
GRIFFIN is gonna be beast when it comes to cleaning the glass and get a hand in peoples faces or altering shots. the kid is a beast waiting to breakout, noway i would trade him now if i was rudy T or CD. trust me i know about dumbass GM'S we have our own good old trader bob whitsitt
eddie's a great player. the only visible flaw is that sometimes he looks like he hesitates before shooting the three pointer, which results in air balls if you don't get a good grip on the ball. other than that, he could become a very complete offensive and defensive player. he's a prodigy in terms of blocking. his free throw shooting is another visible flaw he needs to improve on. but other than that, he's pretty much complete.
Okay, Yette. I just think the kid deserves enough respect to get his name spelled correctly because he will be a Rocket star for a long time to come (I hope).
After the last few games, it should be keeping EG is inevitable...The guy is young, will improve, is learning on the fly, and is still contributing! He will fill out as 96% of all players do...He will get better with experience as 89% of players do...and his play of late is 100% of what the Rockets need! Go Griffin!
