I dont know what you were expecting but I included the assist totals for these past games as well in my edited post, in case it assists you in making a better judgment (which I doubt at this point). BTW, it averages out to be 5.1 / game FYI....
Where is that 50% coming from? If the counterpart guards consistently shooting higher percentage than their season average, then I would consider the defender did a lousy job..
That is true. AB is worth at least MLE at this moment. But 10mil under new CBA might require a much better all around game. It will depend on how AB develops.
Many of them are backup point guards and it's hard to use their numbers to support the arguement because I really don't know how many minutes Brooks really play against them, or how many minutes Lowry actually guarding a starter PG. So, it's hard to give Brooks the credit or blamn him if the counterpart point guards are having a good/poor shooting night.. But personally though, I don't think Brooks defense is as bad as some posters suggest. He might be a as good a Lowry on defense, but Brooks isn't that bad either, especially when he was having a good shooting night... However, if we can get more scoring threats in the starting lineup next year, I would prefer Lowry to start.
My reply with the stats was in response to another poster who said that Brooks 'costs us points' on defense....Even though these stats dont show the break down details (and they weren't meant to provide that, more just background info), it was merely to point out that statement was not justifiable.
I understand the temptation to sell high and test his value, but he's close to untouchable in my book. Unless we're getting Chris Paul or doing some sort of wacky McGrady/Brooks-for-Rubio/Jefferson type deal I don't care to move him.
FWIW - I had nothing better to do on my commute home, so I called Charlie Pallilo to ask his opinion on this subject. 1. he thinks AB's production warrants something above MLE, in the neighborhood of 7-8MM. 2. He thinks Lowry's an excellent backup, but too deficient a scorer to start unless you have a seriously legit SG with him (which is why I pair hiim with a scoring SG).
looks like chouje has been drinking that hatorade real well. MLE player and not an all star? Get your head out of your ass man. He is an All Star caliber player this year ALONE, don't try to refute that. And he can't become a TP type of player he is too small? Am I starting to sense something else in your argument? First it was that he isn't a pure PG, not you're going off and comparing him to TP and saying he isn't big enough? I'll give you a second to think about what you just did.
Seems insulting is your only weapon when you don't have a good argument. I believe you should be banned for your consistent insulting at people who don't agree with you. I've had many posts already showing why AB is not an all star yet. AB is good enough for at least MLE, but not good enough for 10 mil. Rondo, the better player with a ring, only makes 9 mil. I said he can't be Tony Parker. Being too small is one of the reason. I see nothing wrong with that. These name calling stuff only makes you look more and more stupid in each thread.
Choujie, I've quit responding to the garbage posts since there are so many. I like contrary views but only spend time on the ones that provide actual analysis or careful thought. Yours have provided just that, regardless of your position. Repped ya.
LOL - now you are discounting what we have been saying Brooks is NOT a liability on defense. Man, you guys are making me want to trade Lowry just to stop this nonsensicle garbage. DD
What discounting? By watching the games, I still think AB is somewhat a liability on defense, but better than last year. He really needed help when being posted up. You want to trade Lowry just because we think with a different make up of the team, Lowry could be a better fit? LOL. You need stronger nerve, man. It's not happening in the near future, and nobody konws if it will ever happen until the roster is set next season and some games are played.
Dada, You might be encouraged to know that if AB's value is in the $7-8MM range, I actually think he might be worth building around as a 3rd best player on a contender. I just have reservations when folks are talking about him as an elite level player and occupying salary in the $10-11MM range. If you've got him in that kind of a role, then the team's probably not a contender IMO.
how many posts before I finally said something? You get tired of hearing the same crap over and over again with regards to lowry/brooks. And don't act like I'm some kind of troll, that has to be the first time I haven't shown as much restraint as I should.
To complete the thought, perhaps with a healthy Yao, we could reload -- but everything depends on finding a quality SG with Tmac's contract or in FA. A team made up as follows is probably a 4/5 seed in the West next year: AB/Lowry ++Shooting Guard/Buddinger Ariza/Battier Scola/Landry Yao/hayes/Dorsey Of course, this assumes we bring back Lowry and Scola. I don't think our 5 best would stack up to the 5 best of LA. But our bench brigade would be the best and could be enough to push to a Western Conference finals (Assuming Yao returns to health). If we get enough synergy and play defense, we could push LA. --------------------- When AB comes up for a new contract in 2011, Battier's hefty salary goes to AB. I think there'd be enough money to sign Landry to a reasonable MLEish contract.
Check that "What to do with Yao" thread and tell me in a straight face this is your first time insulting people. You just can't. What you can do is put me on your blacklist if you don't want to listen, because similar AB/Lowry threads will come out later and I will still express my opinion based on AB/Lowry's play. And you might still hear things you don't want to hear. This is a public forum, not your home. BTW, I'm tired of your endless/baseless Yao bashing too but I didn't even bother to debate because you didn't even have a point there except making false claims and insulting other posters in that thread.
Lowry would surely help tonight, especially since Brooks(though along with the rest of the team) isn't hitting.
