Westbrook, the Portland Pick and the Detroit pick for Wall and Rui. Wall/Gordon Harden/McLemore Hose/Nwaba PJ/Rui Wood/Cousins
He's hard to move because the contract size (stating the obvious here). For OKC, it made sense because the relationship there, but elsewhere it's tougher. Last year, there was a market for Russ: Houston. There are teams I think they low key want him, but at a slightly reduced price; be it picks or whatever. They want to fleece us. I don't think we're going for that at all. It's been said before by others; I'll compile the reasons: #1: Availability: If we're still running it back 1 more year, he's available now. (guys like Wall is a ?) #2: Harden happy: If Russ leaves means Harden gives the Rockets org an even shorter leash. Keep Russ, even if near term, keeps some semblance of stability. If several pillars (MDA/Morey) all leave at the same time, it could make anyone uneasy (Harden nets trade). #3: If Russ bounces back with regular season performance again; he'd be happier / trade value goes up. #4: Silas can tweak the system, where everyone including Russ could be successful. #5: We have some stretch bigs now (Wood/Cousin), that will open up possibilities.
Unless something unforeseen occurs, do not expect Westbrook trade anytime soon. https://www.yahoo.com/amphtml/att/nba-trade-rumors-latest-russell-160004611.html
