interesting idea, this year being one of the stronger drafts and stronger FA years. Trade Yao for oden then trade tmac for durant, then with all the capspace sign a big time young free agent, and in a few years we'd dominate.
woohoo! but no this would never happen

    And so it begins...

It's going to be a long offseason, full of idiotic trade proposals.

Oh please make that happen, then I can go to watch the Celts games because it's so much closer to where I live. Is that team in Boston? ;)

Well they might as well own something. As Rockets fans we should wish them the best.

    POINTS REBOUNDS ASSISTS

Paul Pierce 25.0 Al Jefferson 11.0 Delonte West 4.4
Al Jefferson 16.0 Paul Pierce 5.9 Paul Pierce 4.1
    W Szczerbiak 15.0 Ryan Gomes 5.6 Rajon Rondo 3.8
Delonte West 12.2 Kendrick Perkins 5.2 Sebastian Telfair 2.8

Scerbiak can shoot. Delonte West makes Rafer look like a shrub. Jefferson soles our problems at PF. He can even play center in the running west. Rondo is better than Rafer. Telfair is Rafer II for those who like that style.

Either Durant or Oden would solve one of our forward problems.

Realistically the Celts would pass on the trade even with Battier and Rafer our other steady starter thrown in. Perhaps they like Hayes or Motumbo?

So I guess we will just have to try to improve with our 26th draft pick and the MLE. Perhaps we can trade some of our other assets if any.

Trade will never happen in a million years, but it does have me thinking.
Is our situation THAT much better than the Boston Celtics?

Oden (if he pans out) and Pierce could be as good as Yao and Mcgrady when you consider Oden won’t experience the physical limitations (slow, unathletic) that Yao does and Pierce is not as fragile as Mcgrady. Not to mention their supporting cast is vastly superior.

Al Jefferson (averaged 16ppg, 11rpg, 1.5bpg) is going to be an all-star next season.
Gerald Green showed flashes of brilliance throughout the season.
Rajon Rondo progressed a lot as the season moved along.
Ryan Gomes is Chuck Hayes with a better offensive game.
Wally Szczerbiak is good for +15ppg (+40% 3-pointers) every season.
Delonte West and Tony Allen are two very good young role players in the backcourt.

It really depends on Oden though. If he can be anywhere near as good as he’s projected to be, the Celtics could be a lot closer to getting out of the first round of the playoffs next season than the Rockets. It’ll be a sad day when a horrible GM like Danny Ainge is able to put together a roster more talented than the Rockets. Compare how well the Celtics were able to develop their young players in the absence of Pierce this past season, to how well the Rockets developed their youngsters (the few they had) in the absence of Yao and Mcgrady two seasons ago.

Heck Durant may be better. Jefferson could play center. CAn he run fast enough? Jefferson, Durant and Gomez and the rest would run with the Suns, Warriors and the rest.

We could let them keep Gerald Green or Scerbiak, probably not both, as there is only so desperate we should let on.. Give the Battier and Rafer. 4/5 of our starterrs. We must hold on to Howard's expiring contract for the future.

    Let's make it happen.

i think it is a good idea. That way we could get not only this year's #1 pick but also next year's #1.
