and who lifted the Rockets during the WHOLE season..? and where did Francis go the whole season? we wouldn't even have to FIGHT to be in the playoff if it weren't for his stupid turnovers...so what ..wow he had ONE good game..and we credit him for the WHOLE season?...please....THINK before you speak
I seriously doubt that. I would wager that Yetti didnt even know who the Rockets were 10 years ago. never believe everything you hear....his actions over the last year or so speak louder than what he claims. btw....say night night Jallen...its been nice knowing ya......actually...it hasnt.
Do you honestly believe Yao is gonna get better? He might get more consistant but not better. Yao's stamina needs to improve dramatically in order for him to succeed in the long run and he has to decide whether its more important to play for China or for the NBA. He can't do both when he gets older or he'll just be Rick Smiths agian.
Now this is a good point. I feel that Yao will have to make that choice as well sometime in the near future or he will never be much better than 18/9 for his career. He's 7'6" so he will always have problems with stamina, but playing non stop all year round cant be helping him. If he can have 35 minutes of CONSISTENT play, then he might break 20/10, but at this point in his career, and with the committments to the Chinese National team, I doubt he will be able to achieve that. I think he has potential to dominate and be 20/10 but he seriously needs to make a committment to the NBA.
Coach McMillan on Yao Ming: "Yao Ming is a … you know, you don’t find guys like that. They were lucky to get him in the draft and (Steve) Francis a few years ago forced a trade and they hadn’t made the playoffs in a number of years. They have a seven-footer that is going to be a very good player in this league and they’ve added some free agents. I think we have that opportunity this summer; we need a bit of luck to fall our way, some things to go right to possibly land something like that. Everyone would want a Yao Ming." Perhaps you know more than McMillan. Perhaps you know more than the other 28 NBA coaches as well. Then you must now better than any of us on the number of 6'10 players in this league that Okafor has the potential to be. Please enlight us.
People may laugh when i say this, but Okefor will be a good player, but i don't see him being a elite player in the league. I mean to be honest, Etan Thomas did as much in his college yrs as Okefor has except win a ring. Its not like Okefor was puting up 20-15-4 blks like Duncan was when he came out. Nor is he as skilled offensively as Brand when he came out. I think he'll be a solid player in this league for a while. To even ponder the thought of trading someone like Ming for Okefor is really crazy. Ming is progressing even ahead of the pace for big men. Once he gets the good compliment of players araound him and puts the chinesse nt behind him, he's going to take off.
You need to cite just about any NBA player that has played, they improve their stats and it is fact that players become more acclimated to the NBA (smarter) as they get older. All sgns and history point to Yao becoming a better player, just look at the difference in not only his stats, but his demeanor this year. From his very first game to this past game... he has improved in nearly all aspects including becoming more aggressive. Stuart
Seriusly why do all new posters start stupid ass threads like this, i never did it when i was a first time poster... Its like they want attention so they say the stupidiest off the wall thing they can come up w/ & IM SICK OF IT!
Any thread that suggests trading Yao is ridiculous. From a business stand point, Les would never do it.

Okafor is an injury waiting to happen and that is playing against smaller inferior players. He will be a roll player at best when he is healthy. The men in the NBA will send Okafor home broken and defeated.
