I've got an idea: Let's start exploring the option of trading BBS members. I believe we have some that we be a smashing success on the ESPN boards. We might have to take some gargage in return. But I'd be willing to do a two-for-one or even a three-for-one deal.
Okafor looks like he could be the next "IT". He might put up 20/10 in his first year. Hard to say how this would turn out for the Rox, Yao commands a double team pretty much every game, not sure if Okafor's offense will get that kind of respect yet or ever. I think this trade idea is actually closer than most people think. Okafor is gonna be a stud, with Alonzo Mourning rookie type numbers.
I don't get it. A few months ago, everybody was talking about how bad this year's draft class was. Now, we have another King in this draft class? What has happened?
Okafor, Curry, and a 1st round pick for Yao and Spoon. Thats the Deal the Rockets would do in a second.
Yao is a legit 7'5", alters many shots, blocks others. He will be more effective as his surrounding cast improves. Okafur, while I would love to have him, stands....what? 6'8" or 6'9" (in shoes he'll hit 6'10"). I'd trade Steve for Okafur before Yao. You can always sign Brent Barry for the MLE if you could find a team with cap space and the #1 draft pick (Atlanta would probably be the only possibility there).
Okafor will make some Team a great Power Forward [6'10"] I would like to see him alongside Yao Ming [In a Rockets Uniform of Course]. Yao Ming will develop to his full potential when we get a Playmaker Point Guard that respects Yao Ming an the fact that the Rockets are building around him !Clearly Steve Francis does not!
steve doesn't fit. we get it. can you please not say it every single time? that makes you the same as juugie you know. i know you're better than that because at least your argument makes sense. and plus before the whole trade francis arguments surfaced you posted solid basketball type posts, don't let this take over man.
If I wanted to win more games I'd trade for Duncan only. You are right. KG is a better player... but if he couldn't win in Minny with a lesser supporting case, why would he be able to here? But in the end the NBA is a business. Few owners are like Cuban, who's willing to overpay to get wins... but in the end I'm sure he still makes money and has his best financial interests in mine. So if it's about money... I'd trade steve for Iverson. Then you have the two most popular players in China on the same team. Merchandise sales will go through the roof... and some of it might actually get back to the Rockets.
Any of those teams would laugh their a$$es off if you offered Yao for them straight up... Yao for KG? You make the case of why trade a proven commodity for an unknown. Why would Minnesota trade a proven 24 and 14 MVP caliber player for someone who has never averaged 18 ppg or 10 rpg, and has proven over two years to become practically useless at the most important time of the year?
If J Willians come out this year, people would have proposed a trade to swap him with Yao. According to many "experts", he was a sure thing, and NBA ready!
This is one of the most r****dED trade ideas I've ever heard! How many 7' 6" players with this kind of SKILLS & only in his 2nd year in the NBA & also just 23 or 24 yrs. old comes along in the history of the NBA! .........................." crickets chirping".................... Hurry now think...!
I think if you look at this trade in another sense, it would show how absolutely absurd it is. Imagine Yao and Okafur both being in this year's draft. The chance of Yao not being the 1st pick is ZERO. NO NBA GM would pick any player over Yao in this year's draft unless they're asking to be fired.
