I think this trade makes no sense if you are the Clippers. Why would the Clippers trade Bledsoe for another point guard (Jeremy Lin)? And why would they trade for Delfino when they can just sign him after the Rockets don't offer him anything? Which they won't because there are many other free agents they would rather go after. If the Clippers trade Bledsoe to the Rockets, they would likely only do it if Parsons and Asik are involved. And they will want the Rockets to take the DeAndre contract too. This would only happen after the Rockets get screwed by Howard. And the T-Wolves would not want Asik because he's a poor mans version of Pekovic. Asik is like a used BMW. You might as well keep it because it's worth more to the Rockets than the trade value you'll get out of it.
You are correct it is only first round picks. That means that we would have one additional Incomplete Roster cap hold that would take our available cap space down almost $500k. Moving Robinson would be required to sign DH12.
Why do people keep forgetting that for a trade to happen, BOTH teams need to agree. Sheesh some of the suggestions nowadays sound like DM has the other GM's daughters hostage and won't give them back unless they totally rip themselves off.
How about: Rockets get -Payton Manning Broncos get -TRob -bag of chips Grocery store gets -Royce White Cause that's about as realistic as the trades proposed in this thread, except I'm not sure the grocery store would give up a bag of chips for White.
Unsigned second round picks do not count against team salary or as a roster spot taken. Since the incomplete roster charges are only used if there are otherwise fewer than 12 roster spots occupied, and since the amount of the incomplete roster charge is only the rookie minimum, the fact that an unsigned second round pick (who would otherwise count AT LEAST the rookie minimum against the cap if signed) doesn't count as a roster spot occupied is a moot point. Thankfully for teams in the Rockets' position, they can have a full 12- (or more) man roster, or they could have fewer than 12 with some incomplete roster charges, and they could also have an infinite number of unsigned second round picks without those picks adding to team salary and thus reducing the team's available cap room.
