For KMJ we got double our money return. One second rounder for two second rounders. Josh Chirstopher, was for the Brooks sign and trade. Garuba and TyTy were for the Alpha Kaba draft rights. I'm wondering if there's something to Alpha Kaba we don't know about. Something cooking.

Regarding the Brooks sign and trade, I imagine the Griz will owe us a favor for getting them that trade exception.

It's starting to look more and more that Alpha Kaba was just a salary dump. Sad. We could have gotten Jaden Hardy instead of TyTy and Grimes instead of Garuba.

    I think you're overthinking it

There is nothing to Alpha Kaba.
It was just salary dumping to clear cap space. We ended up whiffing on Lopez and instead taking Landale and Green and 4.3mill left.

2 second round picks (net) to dump salary to make space to sign those 2 guys. That's it.

Hardy was the best available talent.

I’ve had the best hunters around working on this. No one can track that last trade. Last we heard they were in Oklahoma City, maybe Atlanta. We don’t know for sure. At this point the search may go international.

Hey - I agree that Christopher was a reach at the time. I wanted us to go another direction.

But Hardy was drafted at 37. Every single team passed on him.
In hindsight, everyone got it wrong. Much easier 2 years later!!

I'm saying Hardy instead of Garuba.

Instead of either one would have been great.

But Hardy fell to the mid 2nd round. Not like it was an obvious thing....

Wait, no. Hardy instead of TyTy. Grimes instead of Garuba.

Techhhhnically, the Celtics, Clippers, Suns, Jazz, Nets, and Sixers (traded it) didn’t pass on him as they either didn’t have picks or their only pick was later than 37.
