can you tell me which college yao played basketball for? thank you. :D
or specifically US high school bb players can't be the leader.

yao hasn't led either. look at the team's record w/o tmac.

again, yao is a great offensive player and sure he intimidates a lot of shots w/ his size. but again, he's still not intimidating enough defensively for teams to fear driving against us like shaq/hakeem/even patrick ewing.

he can def. rebound better. he can play pick and roll better.

ppl tend to look at scoring and think they're dominant. yao is a dominant offensive player. but for us to go to the next level, he has to be like hakeem and dominate on both ends. ppl fear hakeem moreso on defense than offense and that was why he is so freakin good.

there are players relish taking it to yao defensively and dunk on him. we need to change that mentality.

sorry, i don't think yao is a dominant offensive player. he has long way to go. do you notice yao's fgp? 0.507. this is no good number for centers. but his ft is great so he is good at offense. but not "dominant".

We may seriously have to consider trading tmac this off season if he continues to play this way. Trouble is you won't find many takers with his bad back.

he's not a power player so u don't expect a high fg%. look at KG. look at dirk. as much as yao play near the basket, most of his shots are fallaways, not dunks like shaq/howard/amare. his fg% won't ever be 55%.

so in that sense, he's dominant offensively. just not good v. suns or warriors playing those midgets.

You really remind me of Fran Blinebury. T-Mac has had back problems, but when was the last time he hurt his back in the playoffs? His post-season numbers are beastly. I was very proud of his performance in the Mavs series 2 years ago. He did all he could. We just fell short as a team. They were much more talented than us, and the fact that we beat them 3 times made me very optimistic about the T-Mac/Yao era.

This is a guard's league. I don't want Yao to be the undisputed leader. T-Mac is more of a leader than Yao anyway. I'm not talking about what he says. It's about what he does. He does play point forward sometimes. It's so obvious that he's the MVP of the team. How do you know that KD will give us the leadership that we lack apparently? KD is a very quiet and shy person. T-Mac is a much better defender than Durant also.

You will probably keep criticizing T-Mac for whatever reason. I'll take T-Mac's natural talents and instincts over "more leadership" any day. Keep in mind that T-Mac and John Patterson are the reason why we will make the playoffs. He saved us when Yao went out. You can't deny that.

hey remember that time yao was out for 32 games w/ a broken leg and tmac put the team on his "sore back", averaging 29 pts. and leading the team to a 20-12 record over that span w/ howard, hayes, deke, and rafer as his supporting cast? man, that was back when he was good tho right? tmac is definitely past his prime and not the dominant scorer he once was. we should dump him for sure, especially since the team wins almost every game he sits out of.

you people in favor of trading mac need to try licking your left ear, while trying to touch your right elbow with your right hand, then you would officially look like the r****ds you are. tmac plays the role he must for the team to win...how were those orlando teams when he was the two time scoring champ all of you miss so badly? i think i'm done here...so go ahead and talk some more bulls###

If T-Mac can't be T-Mac in the playoff, I don't think the Rockets have a future with him. :(

If he played this hard every single night, there would not be threads like this.

He did play hard. He distributed the ball, defended, rebounded. His only problem was his shooting was off. Yet many here are happy to write him off.
