What about Bostjan Nachbar... He is a high IQ player and has some toughness (remember when he fouled Karl Malone really hard). Plus, he is a friend of Yaos and can make the open jumper
he's the only european in the world who cant shoot....he can make an open jumper now??? i havent watched him since he left the rockets....
Boki rides the bench with Padgett in NJ I'm all for the JR Smith deal as well I think it's a realistic possibility, but since we're in the same division as NOK, they might want more from the Rockets than they would a non-division team

Smith said he's all but certain his two-year stint with the team is over because of his strained relationship with Coach Byron Scott. Advertisement "I don't think I'll have to ask for a trade; it's going to be automatic," Smith said. "I would like to go anywhere; it doesn't matter if it's a losing team. I just want to be out there to help on the court." In February, Smith and Scott publicly disclosed that a rift had developed, and they were not on speaking terms for nearly two months. At the time, Smith thought Scott had taken it personally for not playing him regularly. Scott said Smith's demotion was a result of his immaturity, poor work habits and lack of improvement since his rookie season in 2004-05. During the final two months of the season, they appeared to co-exist without having much contact besides game-related matters. However, Scott spoke bluntly Thursday about Smith's deficiencies during the season. "All the things we talked about (that he needed to improve on), he never really did those things," Scott said. "He might grow up one day, but from a coaching standpoint, I live in the present. I need guys who can help right now. When he grows up and starts playing, I might be in the stands somewhere with somebody else coaching the team." Scott said he won't begin evaluating the season with General Manager Jeff Bower until Monday, so they cannot say what players they might consider trading later this summer. In February, the Hornets had a trade deal worked out that would have sent Smith to the San Antonio Spurs for veteran guard Brent Barry. But the deal wasn't completed until five minutes after the trade deadline, and the league didn't approve it. "I wasn't disappointed, because I wanted to finish out the season with my teammates," said Smith, who played in 55 games and averaged 7.7 points this season. "But it's been a tough season. At one point, you're at the highest of highs and everybody's looking upon you to be the leader, and then the coach pretty much disowns you. It's hard to play like that." At his season-ending meetings, Scott said he told Smith, Arvydas Macijauskas and Kirk Snyder that there are three shooting guards on the team, and two of them will not be back next season. Scott's criticism of Snyder and Macijauskas was as harsh as it was of Smith. "Kirk did an excellent job for a while, but consistency-wise he went straight downhill," Scott said. "Arvydas didn't know the plays after going through it every day, and that was very disappointing. You have to know the system, and he never grasped it. We need someone we can count on every night at that spot." When Smith was asked if anything off the court caused his relationship with Scott to deteriorate, Smith said he couldn't think of anything. "If I'm traded, I won't be mad, because it's a business, and that's what happens," Smith said. "But I'm going to Houston to spend the entire summer there to work on every part of my game, so there won't be any excuses. This kid sounds hungry. It seems like he wants to prove Scott wrong and he doesn't care where he does it. But if they were willing to take him for Brent Barry, maybe we can get him for less than Stro?
New Orleans tried to deal him for Brent Barry. The same Brent Barry who sucks and plays for the Spurs. The same Spurs team who is in their division and happens to be the best team in the conference. You would think they wouldn't want to deal within their division but apparently they almost did.
I have no doubts about stro being scary in PHX though, he's like Amare Jr. He is almost as explosive as Amare is, and can hit the outside jumper(though not consistently yet).
Not to mention the fact that we've done two trades with them in the past two years, so it certainly seems like their front office has a good relationship with our front office.
Brent Barry does not suck, he can still take the ball down the court and do a reverse dunk. I wish one of our crew could do that. Looks like the Hornets want a guard back for Smith, how about Luther straight up for Smith.
draft shelden williams with the 8th pick. trade swift for Arvydas Macijauskas, and JR smith Yao williams tmac Jr smith alston
Boston is looking for a veteran point guard, maybe the rockets can trade Alston or Head (I would rather keep Head) or resign and trade Wesley for Delonte West. He is a young quick point guard that can drive, pass, and shoot the outside
I don't think Boston wants to dump Delonte. I think they want to supplement a veteran behind him. If we traded with them, the more likely trade would be something like Juwan and Rafer for Raef and their draft pick, something along those lines. This would be a good upgrade for us, especially if we could sign a PG like Cassell to go with it. Raef is overpaid, but he is the range shooting PF that Van Gundy is talking about. He has range out to 3 point land, shooting around 40% from 3. Plus, he still has fair to decent hops and quickness to hang with some of the PFs, a career 1.7 blocks per game. If we couldn't sign Cassell, we'd have to use one of the draft picks to pick up Marcus Williams and Van Gundy would just have to work with the rookie point. Raef's contract is an albatross, so Boston would have to be willing to send us their pick to make this deal work.
Mike Miller is T-macs good friend and we tell him that he can start. Give up Head and draft pick. Done and done! Alston McGrady Miller Howard Yao
Actually on Real GM its reporting that the Celtics are looking for a veteran point guard. It mentions they want ot trade for Speedy Claxton and Brevin Knight. Could we offer Rafer Alston for Delante West, they may not want to move him but its worth a shot. He may not be as good as a passer as Rafer but his shooting ability reminds a lot of Cuttino Mobley with soild point guard abilities and good defense I think he really fits well here. I also think we should try to make a run at Mike Miller of Memphis I prefer Battier, but I think Miller will be easier to get than both Peterson and Battier. He is a very good scorer, ball handler and is clutch.
Speedy Claxton i believe becomes a free agent. And I'm not sure Memphis will let Mike Miller go. They have a few free agents, but he'll be their top priority.
