battier is out of the question ;/ memphis wont give him up, evne tho hes not an allstar or superstar hes probably their one consistent player.

same iwht mike miller, i wouldnt mind having either of em on the rockets however its basically impossible.

mike dunleavy..... hes overpaid ;/ if he was packaged with say mickael pietrus then maybe :)

I'd take a Dunleavy Fisher combo if I could move Juwan's contract.

Posted this in the other thread, but one guy we might take a look at is Justin Reed of Minnesota; seems like a tall (6-8) wing defender who plays extremely hard all the time and can guard 2s and 3s, but is "offensively challenged", though he seems to be improving with increased playing time.

    The one caveat I have about him is I remember what The Sports Guy, Bill Simmons once said about him (though you might not like Bill's opinions of the Houston area, Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady or the Rockets, he does have good opinions about Boston sports);

    Talking to his dad:
    Bill's Dad: Who's #9 on the Celtics?
Bill: Justin Reed, a second round pick out of Mississippi.
Bill's Dad: What's he do again?
    Bill: Nothing.

Still, this is like Charlie Ward or Adrian Griffin; it just feels like he'd be a fit for the Rockets, for better or worse.

I also really like James Singleton of the Los Angeles Clippers, as I think he's Stromile Swift with effort (and a similarly limited offensive game), but I'd definitely keep Chuck Hayes before him now.

i think jamal crawford will be available...he can even play the point as well and would solve most of our problems at the 2...he's young, has size, can penetrate, and is a good shooter....it's true that he does need to handle the ball to be productive, but he has shown the ability to spot up and shoot and he would then be an ex-knick so he should fit right in :D....the drawbacks: his d isn't that great and he does have a long term deal, but i think the knicks would be willing to deal him and the rockets might be able to get him for a future draft pick and a role player or something

I know he's not a tall wing player, but Ben Gordan is really nice a scorer and three point shooter. I want him on the team.

Why would Chicago move Ben Gordon? He's one of the top 5 shooters in the whole NBA.

It's just not feasible. Mike Miller isn't feasible either. Jerry is not going to trade him to us.

Jamal possibly. But what does Isaiah want? Would he take our pick for Jamal? Would he take Stro for Jamal? Can't see that, not unless they move Curry and that kid from Arizona for a superstar like KG, which just isn't going to happen.

Can't see NO moving JR Smith to a division rival, not when they are building to be competitive. Kirk Snyder would probably be available and I actually like him as an option. I think he's a poor man's Ron Artest. Don't know if Van Gundy would put up with his shenanigans though. And he's not a great shooter, at least not yet.

Which brings me back to Mo Pete. You know he will be in his expiry year next year. He could pitch a fit and tell TO he isn't re-signing and force them to move him ala McGrady. We would then have a pretty decent shot at him provided he wanted to play here.

Don't look now but Qyntel Woods is putting up good shooting numbers from the field and decent 3 point shooting percentages all the while playing for Van Gundy's grandfather. And he's got good size. Would he take half the MLE to play here and start? He looks like the new Sprewell to me.

Sadly, of the eight power forwards the Knicks have, Juwon might actually start.

if isiah is crazy enough to sign jerome james to a multi-year deal and take mo taylor off of our hands then he might take the rockets' second round pick and juwan howard for jamal crawford....believe it or not, if the knicks trade crawford and get j-ho they would be getting cap relief in the long term....if they wouldn't do it for the 2nd round pick, the knicks would definitely do it for the lottery pick and j-ho....that way the rockets get a proven nba player that's young at the 2 that they desperately need and get rid of j-ho's contract in the process....i'm sorry but i dont think any player the rockets draft is gonna have much of an impact....also, crawford's personality would fit well with this team....the reason i bring this up is because the knicks have been trying hard to deal crawford and a lot of other players for that matter, thus it would be a realistic option....i'd much rather have jamal than josh childress

I would love to get Crawford, he's a streaky shooter but when he is on fire he can be as much of a game changer as T-Mac. The trade is pure fantasy though, Crawford looks like one of the guards they are going to keep, he just won EC player of the week. The Knicks are more likely to unload Marbury or Francis this off-season, Marbury has been a headache for Brown and Francis has been complaining about playing time.

They may unload them..............for trash. Both of those guys values are in the toilet right now. All they will get will be junkie contracts of other mediocre players, maybe saving one year's salary or something. Marbury is the absolutely worst. He makes the most money and who would even want him around? At least Steve has some friends around the league who would want him.

Otherwise they are going to have to send out a player like Frye to get rid of Marbury.

I agree, the Knicks made a similar deal for Jalen Rose. Toronto had been trying to unload Jalen but nobody wanted his contract, the Knicks took his contract and a protected #1 for Antonio Davis. The same thing is probably going to happen with Francis or Marbury, they are going to have to make it very appealing to the team that takes on their contracts. Now that would be an interesting deal, would you deal Juwan, Rafer and fillers to get SF and pick(s).

The Rockets can try to steal Gelabale from Seattle, he's better than his french teamate M Pietrus, as athletic, as good a defender, more fluid, better shoot; I think he can be had for a couple of future Secound round picks.

If we trade Stro for JR, We better get a 1st rounder along with him!!
Stro is a big with 5 years in the league, JR is still a kid that may have matureity issues.

Frankly, I don't care which 4 we trade.

JR can play. I would do it just to dump Stro's contract.

the knicks were really trying hard to deal Crawford before the deadline....you dont think they would give up Crawford for our lottery pick and a filler?

Of course they would. Isiah is dying to move up and select a meaningful player, probably so he has some attractive pieces to entice other teams to take on some the huge albatross contracts he's foolishly collected.

Crawford is a decent player but certainly isn't worth our lotto pick. Maybe talent-wise he is, but he's a limited, one-dimensional, ISO player that is known for hogging the ball, being a loser and not playing defense. TRANSLATED: no thanks.
