Any trade dealing with Francis and Marbury has to involve Bobcats. I suspect their cap could be better used with Iverson trade than past the sell out date Stevie or Starbury. Not happening.

Any deal involving Frye will probably require us give up on Head. Isiah has a track record getting more talent but he give up. It is just that he doesnt give a squat about the cost or efficiency player brings. I also feel Frye will be moved, but him being one of their more attractive baits, it is somebody that is going to improve Knicks talent not downright mediocre ones like Howard, Alston etc.

it's a solid idea, but they can get much more for Frye than, essentially, a low 1st round pick.

I agree that it'd take at least Head to get that done...if not a pick included since you're trading a small for a big. But then, they have no use for another freakin guard either, so you'd hafta wait for them to deal 1 or 2 of the quad-fecta away

True, NY doesn't need Head. They also don't need frontcourt players. They don't need cap room. They don't need anything, they need fewer players.

That's why a draft pick is the way to go. Doesn't cut into minutes and it gives them something to package if they want to engage in further trading.

Now, somebody might offer a mid-first round pick in what is supposedly a deep draft for Frye (who went #8 in what was considered to be a weak first round 2 years ago)- but not unless Frye (who's going to have to share minutes with Isiah's new "super sub" front court bench triumvirate) shows dramatic improvement from his early play. Coming off an injury, who knows?

i failed to realize how stacked the knicks actually are. if they got everyone healthy, and played like a team, they could seriously do some damage...

Under JVG, a trade involving Juwan and Frye is nearly impossible to happen, even if salary cap and stuff can work out. Stats-wise, these two are equally unimpressive this season. But at least Juwan is a vet whom JVG knows what to get from, while Frye is pretty much an unproven commodity. May work in Fantasy league, though.

Exactly. Has no one noticed that Isiah hasn't made a peep all year about making a roster move? Isn't the Iverson firesale exactly the sort of thing he never fails to leap at? Isiah doesn't have the car keys anymore. Dolan hinted as such earlier this week - suggesting that if you want to do a major trade, then you want to overhaul the team, and you need a new coach (hint hint).

That's actually great - Isiah is determined to keep all of "his" guys no matter how little PT there is for them, hence his inexplicable demotion of Lee to the bench in favor of Crawford to form the 3-man front court "bucket brigade" if somebody else is calling the shots...that makes it more likely that some of his redundant treasure might slip out the door (along with some of his trash, no doubt)

Player for player, position for position, the Knickerbockers really are a deep team. Why are they 9-15? Puzzling.

Well, I'm not in any way suggesting it, because JVG probably considers Francis a knucklehead, and we've gone through dealing with a PG without a high basketball IQ ...

... but the deal COULD be done for Francis and Frye, without going through the Bobcats ... IF the NYK are really wanting to get rid of Francis' salary, and actually want our draft pick or players.

HOU trades Howard, Sura, and Alston since the 3 salaries are within 17% of Francis/Frye, and we only need 25% now. They would retire Sura, who has one year left on his contract, and be able to break up Francis' contract into 2 pieces, which are easier to trade.

Skip to My Lou is a serious playground legend there, and would be a great marketing move on their part.

I'm sure we'd have to throw in a pick.

But, I'd rather trade Howard to CHI somehow, where he's a hometown hero, and pick up Duhon, if there was any way.
