Wow Jared, You really know how to take the wind out of a guy's sails (with that "could'a had Jordan AND Drexler talk). You're right, we could'a had'em. Let's do a Teddy Roosevelt and Stand Pat with what we got. Yeah, who wouldn't like Odem and Lewis? That trade(s) would fill immediate voids with star-caliber talent. But then ya got a couple of problems that will glare like truck headlights in a couple of years: BOTH will demand the max. OK then, ya got Francis at the max; Odem and/or Lewis at the max; Yao will be needing the max; EG will probably be looking at a max. What then? Trade'em away and be right back where we started? The more I think about the machinations the Rox go through, the more I think that the NBA really is a business , and not some rich-guy's lap dog. Les, and nearly every other owner are trying to eek every dime out of their team, all while trying to field a competitive team. No pun intended, but Les is More. Regarding Cato, KT, etc, etc.... Cato is very serviceable. Most teams would like to have him either starting or backing-up their center. At full-speed, Cato's worth 6 - 8 pts and 6 - 10 rebs with a couple of blocks. Big guys are hard to find. KT will meld into a role of 6th/7th guy. Perfect for him. He's a high-energy big man and fits in nicely. His biggest plus is that he's not a complainer. He'll probably be OK with that role, so long as he gets his 15" to 25" per game and we're winning. Mobley??? I go from hot to cold on him. He can be brilliant one minute, and selfish the next. However, when he's on he's on and can light it up. The guy has an incredible first step. The pragmatic opinion is that he's a perfect 2 for us. Plus, he's Steve's running buddy. If they lock onto Ming, and find him irreplaceable this year, they'll feed him the ball like cookies. I've said too much, gotta go. ___________________________________ I could'a been a contender
