This is certainly nothing new, as we all know that tmac needs to get some fire under his ass to get rolling on the court. But when he did get hot, he is unstoppable. oh well, we still got 4 other players playing when tmac is "resting" on the court.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence until you get to the other side... Fans let their passion get in the way of rational thinking. I am DIE HARD fan, I lose sleep when we lose games like philly and toronto but I also don't develop the "sky is falling" attitude that people on here have after each loss. Back when we had Steve, he was our savior as the old guard was leaving, then things didn't go as planned everyone pointed out his weaknesses and wanted him gone. T-Mac then became our new savior and b/c things haven't gone as planner everyones hating on him now. I guarantee you whoever we bring in will be a bust as well. It's the Houston curse! The way everyone's salivating over Phonie #24 on this board now is the exact way everyone was about T-Mac when he was in Orl. It's easy to base your love for other team's players when all you watch are highlights on ESPN, b/c you don't see their flaws night in night out. I am for patience and giving this group some time to gel and develop and identity. We've seen what this team is capable of when clicking (6-1), beating the Spurs, Suns, should have beat the Mavs both times. This team is capable of beating the best teams, it's only been 23 games under the new system, a system that supposedly takes 2-3 years to master (I do not want to wait that long but hope Yao and T-Mac's greatness will push the learning curb).
i hope you all got a good look at manu tonight against the lakers without parker and duncan. that left the spurs roster about equal to the rockets last year when yao went down with his injury. compare that to the way t-mac led the team even though he was the focus of the defense to .600 ball. this is the guy some of you are calling t-mac to be traded for ? get real. if we had to have manu do most of the ball handling and creating like t-mac does we'd be lottery bound FOR SURE. i am so sick of the t-mac hate around here from people who just dont understand what he means to this team, despite his flaws. sometimes i want him to be traded just so everyone can see just how wrong they were. T-MAC IS NOT THE PROBLEM! the rest of this roster needs to be filled out if we want to move forward....or the players we do have (like mike james) need to start playing the way they are capable of.
Your post is no good, Spurs roster is build up around Duncan, not around Ginobili, Spurs don´t have a second inside threat as they should insted they have 3 or 4 players who can play Ginobili and Parker positions. If manu was the go to guy on that team they will also assure to have a inside scorer everytime as the use parker and manu to always have a slasher when TD is in.
Oh and manu has the same injury as lebron in his shooting hand, and he is still playing, something you cannot say about glassman.
yea and the rockets roster is built around YAO....whats the difference ? a team with manu as the main guy would be horrible as he is not on the level of other star swingmen in the league that he is often compared to.
You should just go ahead and post a "TRADE YAO" thread.. Just a bunch of T-mac haters, We are not lookin to trade Mcgrady now and as far as I know NOT anytime soon
Manu is a hoe for flopping, but you don't question his intensity out on the court and when it's late in the ball game he has a history of showing up and taking it to the hole.................
You are as moronic as the Tmac haters. Morons like you guys polarize this board and try the defend your own idol by bashing the other Rockets player. You TOFs and the so-called YOFs should all STFU and go away.
there is no such thing as a tmac hater.....well there is, but not in the sense of "hating" the man for no particular reason....people are just fed up with the guy and his promises........
easier to do with an all-star center and PG, and robert horry and michael finley on the wings stretching the defense. i'd love to see just how clutch he is as the number one guy....
he's not as talented as tmac...and he's never been a number one option....I'd just rather have the ball in his hands down the stretch more than Me-mac.........
My personal favorite thing is how all the T-Mac lovers say he is the best player on the planet
NEWSFLASH THIS JUST IN!!!!!
McGrady is not better than Kobe or Lebron
Get off McGrady's nuts too....he is not that bad either....although his chucking makes me sick
Though, I still believe a trade of Tracy to Chicago for Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich, and Tyrus Thomas is not only achievable, but a very good deal
My opinion..... Go ahead start the bashing
Don´t be so dumb, team around yao, ok. That´s way Tmac shoots almost twice the shoots yao takes. The rockets team are more used to play for Mcgrady than the spurs to play for Ginobili. It´s not only about player but also consistency, if a team built around manu played for him at least some screens will be run for him, Pop uses manu more as a "score as you can" weapong than to go for manu plays as in 2005 where most of the plays on the perimeter wee run for him, now the plays are run for parker and manu gets to play but not with many plays for him. He has became more a spot up shooter than before because of this, but this shows the capacity to adapt himself to the team needs, he entered the league averaging .333 from 3pt line and now he is over .400
I wonder how many people on this board think that T-Mac should be traded ASAP before too many teams get the feeling that he's just an average player rather than being looked at as a superstar? I think that if most other teams ever get the feeling that he's just an average player, they may not offer the Rockets as much in return as they may have after either last season or the 2004-05 season.
McGrady-dominated Rockets aren't real contenders http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/jack_mccallum/12/13/mcgrady.rockets/index.html
