I am. Multiple steroid injections in high stress joints are long term problems. Then again, Cat's ankles aren't exactly pillars of stability, either. Healthwise, a close inspection of Allen's medical records should prevent a Grant Hill scenario.

    Rockets-wise, squeeze the trigger CD!!!

And Cat - no worries - there are shots, shots and more shots in the great biergarten of the East. I smell All-Star.

I think this is a horrible trade. This says it all:
Change in team outlook: -0.7 ppg, -6.2 rpg, and +0.1 apg.

Ray Allen is a great player when healthy, but how the hell would he solve our problems. Production wise he won't put more than 4 ppg more than Cat if even that, and how much does he cost. Probably alot more, and if he's near end of contract he'll want alot

More importantly than that, this would kill our PF position if we lost Mo, and even more so if we lost Cato. Collier belongs in the NBDL, and with just Ming we really would be asking for it.

Since when do NBA trades include "players to be named later"?

Maybe we'll have our pick of left handed relievers from the Bucks' farm system ... :D

A healthy Ray Allen can dunk. But I haven't seen him dunk recently, which worries me even more about his condition.

Well...I'll keep reading to see if anything is new... I just hope something happens. Not about Ray Allen. Just any trade that helps the Rockets would be delightful. Awesome!!!

    Wow:eek:

I go to cook dinner, and this thread has exploded since I first started it.

Like I put in my original post, I highly doubt this goes down because of the implications involved.

I was really suprised to hear Clutch said he heard something close to this rumor.

I think this would make a great trade, it would help the Rockets with their long range shooting and add another dimension to the Rockets' offense.

Here's to hoping it actually happens.

Ray Allen averages 3.8 assists a game for his career. If you remove his rookie year (2.8) where his minutes are very low, he's above 4.0 assists per game since then. That's what this guy brings. Last year, he averaged 4.8 assists a game.

Also, he's one of the best pure shooters in the NBA. The guy's never played with a post presence, yet he still lights it up from 3-pt range. Imagine the kind of damage he could do with Steve at the point, and Ming at the 5 demanding a double team?

I just can't shake the feeling that the initial deal mentioned makes no sense for Milwaukee.

I was just thinking the same thing. If he finds out its not going to happen he will let us know right away. If he finds out it is possible I'm sure his source will want him to keep it quiet until its appropriat.

SO Clutch you out there?:) Don't take it personally but I hope we dont hear from you until tommorow.

Ray Allen would make this team incredible.

The rule is: you always trade quantity for quality.

Well anyways...it will never happen. :(

I don't know squat, but I do know this:

If the Rockets unload Cato, they're signing Stanley Roberts.

    Done.

I'm not against the trade. But it makes little sense for Milwaukee so I doubt it will go down.

There are health concerns, but someone reminded me that Mobley's ankles aren't exactly rock solid either.

Ray Allen is pretty damn close to perfect for this team. But the deal, again, makes lilttle sense. There's NO motivation for Milwaukee to make it, although it's a good overall deal (talent vs talent).

Yep. It doesn't make any sense. Why would Milwaukee give up their best player? Maybe they have seen Mobley and like him? And maybe they like Mo Taylor's offensive skills and Cato's hustle...

    Anything is possible.

    But nothing's gonna happen.

    Good night all.

I thought of him as a very viable solution at back up C (a PERFECT opposite of Yao) if we could unload Cato. He'd be rediculously cheap, he lives in Houston, and I saw him on ESPN the other day working out at Westside wearing Rockets practice here. Rudy T and CD liked him a few years ago when they signed him to be the back up center... now he has even more motivation. MMMMMM.... I'm salivating at the prospect:

    PG - Francis/Norris
    SG - Allen/Hawkins/Posey
    SF - Posey/Rice/Morris/Nachbar
    PF - Griffin/Taylor/Morris
    C - Ming/Roberts
