This deal is done and there's nothing else we can do. It will become official on July 12. They made the agreement before we made our #8 pick. Rockets probalby thought we would trade Reddick + Swift for Battier or Brewer + Swift for Battier. Once Gay slipped there was nothing else we could do. Rockets management screwed this up BIG TIME. I'm still waiting on some sort of an explanation. I hope someone gets fired in the upcoming days.

honestly..i'm pretty sure i'd rather keep brewer than doing this deal, if it was brewer we selected.

Amen - if this trade happens, I will probably quit being a fan of the Rockets. F*cking ridiculous to get rid of a talent like Gay for a mediocre player like Battier. Little wonder why our team's front office is such a joke. :( :( :(

I agree, I would have done the same thing and just have stuck with our #8 pick when we couldn't move up to pick Roy. Like I said they screwed up big time. We already have Yao and T-MAC, so having the #8 pick was just to add a little piece to our team. How could they mess this so badly and give away two young and athletic players.

    Like I said before...

After the intitial shock of the deal...

I like the deal. In battier we have a solid defender, good shooter, high bball iq guy.

Gone is the r****d ,"im lost, but I can dunk" swift. The only thing is giving up rudy g. he could be good or not pan out at all.

This trade leaves a small hole for us at the 4. We need to sign Chris Wilcox who can rebound a block shots.

Also, I think we might be getting something or someone else along with shane. TE or another player from a third team?

all in all it's not so bad. People are acting like we just traded the rights to dwayne wade or something

Well people are acting moronic becuase to many fans in the BBS it just seems like a one sided trade. I mean for me getting Rudy Gay was option #1. Even if I has the #1 pick in the draft i probably would have pulled the trigger and drafted him #1 over all... This is just a sad day for Rox managment, IMO.

yes i have seem him play. I've watched at least 6-7 games last year, and he was great, but that doesn't necessarily translate into the nba. IMO (not that it matters) he's missing balls, a little timid.

The only good of this trade, that I see, is that it will be further reason to get rid of Van Gundy when we underachieve. But by that time, he will have mortgaged our future and resources for unplayable players with long contracts.

We are not going to win any championships with this roster, unless we get serious talent. Hopefully we are in the lottery next year, when the draft is strong. Moreover, that may give us hope that it will make Les get rid of Van Gundy.

In the NBA? no. Battier, Swift and Eddie Griffin? yes.

I'm putting some faith in the Rockets.

I was hoping to be happy during the off-season and check on the possible free-agent signings that we can get. But I'm really waiting for some F**kin explanation from the Rockets management. Anyone here heard or read anything on their explanation. I'm pissed and I want some fu**in answers, apologies...anything

You guys are crazy. Battier is a very good player and getting better. As a Mavs fan I was alway wondering how the Mavs could get Battier on their roster. Who knows about Gay. Anything can happen including injuries. Battier is a lock down defender and can score much more if he is given the green light.

Of course West is going to rant about Gay. He has to. But the truth is that nobody really knows about him and Battier is going to help know. Not a bad trade if you ask me.
