Trade: Rudy Gay AND Stro Swift for Shane Battier?

memphis doen't want Swift, Swift is requested by a possible third team involved in the trade. That third team wants Swift, not Memphis. Have patience with this scenario.

 

now that i've gotten over the initial shock. im ok with the deal.

battier is a good defender and a 3pt shooter. has a high basketball IQ, something swift def. does not possess.

Although I still think we gave up too much, if in fact it clears some space....

we can sign someone like chris wilcox at the 4 and maybe add me james...still. Who knows, this might work out.

They are so stupid that they picked Batier contract which last for more than 3 years.

CBS Sports: Gay finally goes, and what a terrific development for him if he stays with the Rockets. He won't be called upon to develop immediately and he's got Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming to take pressure off him. If he continues to develop, he might emerge as the top player in the draft. If he's dealt for Shane Battier, the Grizzlies just ripped off Houston. Battier is strong, but he will never be a star. Gay could be.

 

A 3rd has to be involved. there probaly just ironing out the details. this just dosent make sense. the Grizz are planning to packiage Swift and probaly Bjax to another team. i'm sure we'll get something more out of this. a possible 1st Round pick from the 3rd team?

 

Who wants Swift? He's effectively busted for two teams now. The more I think about it, the more I think the trade stands as is.

Rudy Gay isn't LeBron James. He's not going to be a big time player any time soon. The Rockets needed something out of this draft right now. I don't have a problem with them trading Gay for a proven commodity. The question is whether we could have gotten more for him than Shane Battier.

JVG has said on the radio that the "best case scenario" is we get a player who can start right away and be a contributor. Worst case is we get a "rotational player". Battier can step in, right away, and contribute for 35+ minutes. Is there another player available for Rudy Gay that could help us as much? I can't think of any ...

 

Battier has a good percentage from all over. He is a low risk player. Smells like Morey to me. Yall Loooove Morey. He is gone in 2yrs.

i like battier and i think it's a good move. We just gave up too much if the deals stands as is...

I don't think anyone else is involved. Why would Gay, Swift and Battier be leaked but what the Rockets get in return with the exception of Battier, is a big secret?

 

And Dwayne Wade isn't Lebron James either.
