So it's a potential superstar plus last offseason's biggest move for freaking Shane Battier? What a waste two years in a row. I would rather root for the Knicks next year. At least they have a generous owner who is stupid but would do anything to improve his team. :(

The rockets just got raped in this trade. Shane Battier is not worth Gay alone, let alone Gay + Swift. I sure as hell hope there is another piece that has not emerged yet.

I take solace in the fact that battier helped memphis win all those playoff games.

Jersey took Williams as predicted. I follow the Nets. Yes, they do have perhaps the best 1 in the game, but when he gets tired...who carries his load? Currently, Jacque Vaughn. so you could see why they've been looking for an heir to Jason Kidd for the past 2 years.

Didn't James opt out of his final year?

Don't the rookie's salary count for anything?

even if they didn't like Gay, they could have gotten something more for that pick besided Battier.

I have been in JVG's corner ever since he started, but if he had anything to do with this pick, forget him. I am done.

So tired of trying to defend the dumb moves this organization has made.

I live in NY, and i will not be buy nba league pass this year, nor flying down for rockets games as I do several times a year. I am done.

We all know how well Battier defended Dirk in the play-offs this year. :p

Battier, JHo and Yao might be the absolute slowest front court in the history of the NBA.

All these Eddie Griffin comparisons have got to stop. There's a huge difference between trading 3 first round draft picks, for a complete headcase. There's a difference between being non assertive and being a headcase. There's no career history of Gay being a thug. Rudy Gay being a passive player would at worst mean being a 10 point, 5 board player for the Rockets. 10 and 5 is exactly the sort of player the Rockets traded for, except this player is older, has no potential to improve, and has no ability to take over a game like Gay. There was nothing to lose in drafting Gay, yet we threw all of that away in getting an older mediocre, slow footed Battier. Just because Griffin and Gay have on similar character trait in possibly being passive on the court, doesn't mean Gay will become a headcase and a thug.

Problem is, we all see it and you dont want to believe CD is this idiotic.

Think of the players this combo coulve been traded for

Think about it... and all they get is Battier?

what a sad day to be a rockets fan. i was screaming and shouting for gay, then bam, proposed trade. say it aint so CD say it aint so.

as well as aruba, i supported JVG. if he had any hand in this, picking "veteran leadership" over "youth" then i too will hate him.
