i would trade....................neither of them because they will be each others back up i know steve francis isnt playin the point at all
Yep. I figured Rafer was bit by Van Gundy's style, but I didn't know it was by this much. Aside from his years as a Raptor, this will be the first time the offense has been "open" for him, instead of wandering around the 3-point arc like he did the last 2 years and as a member of the Heat, when he was coached by another Van Gundy. I think his quickness, passing ability and vision fits right into Adelman's offense. I'm not saying this after just watching two games, either, I'm saying this because Rafer in a motion, floor game > Rafer in a spot-up, kick-it-out offense. And when the Rockets do go that style when they have to milk Yao late in the 4th, that's where James comes in handy with his perimeter shooting.
In my opinion, that's because he was on a hot streak and hitting his threes, which was the only way for him to look good in Van Gundy's offense. Yes, his shooting is hot right now, but that's not why he looks so good - it's the fact that he's cutting really well, making the best passes in a pass dependent offense, and racking up steals on the perimeter instead of shading back towards the paint (like under JVG). But the idea of trading Mike is still ludicrous at this point. My only problem is that if one of the 3 aren't moved, Luther isn't going to get any minutes.
YOU PEOPLE JUMP TO TOO MANY CONCLUSIONS........COME ON PEOPLE ITS ONLY THE SECOND GAME OF THE PRESEASON..........PLAYERS HAVE TO GET THEIR FEET ALITTLE BIT MORE.........IF MJ SCORES 20 NEXT GAME YOU GUYS WILL TALKING ABOUT TRADING SOMEONE ELSE ON THE TEAM........RELAX!
Why one out of Rafer, Mike and Steve must go? Why can't we have all 3 of them? What do you expect in return by trading away any of them? What's your ground to assume that there will be team chemistry issue with the 3 guys co-exist in our team?
I love the fact that Stevie is back in the fold, but c'mon, he's got a short term sweetheart contract - not something to alter the rest of your roster over. If you've got a good player, you can get him on the floor - regardless of position.
uh, mike james has been as advertised. a scoring punch with attitude. please pass over the crack that makes you think the rockets should go back to relying on skip to be the man at pg. skip has looked good in 2 FREAKING PRESEASON GAMES but i can find atleast a dozen games from last year where he was even better. sample size folks.
I believe you will be surprised by Rafer this season with Adelman running the show. Under JVG's montionless offense, he had one of the best assist/turnover ratios in the league, ran the offense smoothly, shot 36% from 3, and got us 1-2 steals per game which will most likely convert to a bucket on the other side since we will look to run the break every chance we get. I think he's a clutch shooter in the fourth quarter as well. If he doesnt start (25-32 minutes), I believe he should at least come off the bench for 15-20mpg. Francis/T-Mac/Yao/Bonzi/Head/Scola/James/(Brooks -rookie) all turn the ball over too much, so it would make a lot of sense to have someone who can set up a play without turning the ball over. I don't see the point in making any trades before the deadline, since teams will just try to low-ball us or wait until we make our cuts. Even after the deadline, Francis/T-Mac/Bonzi might get injured, so it's good to have a lot of depth in the backcourt.
honestly we should keep all of them we have depth and thier is nothing wrong with that. rafer james francis
Agree in 100%. Depth is nothin wrong. Keep them cause when Rafer will have worse days we can use Mike...
MJ is not getting traded, at least not now because we just traded for him. Could you imagine the interviews with James if he got traded from us again? Be prepared to be called "cheap prostitutes" again.
Man talking about jumping the gun after two preseason games, and we played a greek team that I could have got double figures on. Hint V-Span thinks he is Mcgrady on that team. From reports Mike James has been flawless in practice, and he along with Steve bring a swagger that we didn't have last year. Rafer has been great, but I don't trust him after two games, and he has bigtime legal issues ahead. One reason Rafer worked so hard this summer and is playing so hard he feels the raft of a MJ or Steve on the bench, what did have last year to strike fear in his position V-Span or JLucas, not going to take anybodys starting spot in the NBA. Don't give up on Brooks, will take time to adjust to the game.
i have no idea what this thread iis talking about. mike james has been very impressive, while francis hasn't shown anything special at all. trust me, we'd trade francis quicker than we'd trade james or luther head.
What the f#$% is everyone smoking? Why the heck to you need to trade one of your best players. If anything you trade away the worst players at the position if you want a salary dump. And who cares, les said he was gonna take the hit this year anyways. We dont need to trade rafer, steve, mike or luther. We can keep all of them. Jesus Christ! We dont have any point guard depth for two freaking years and when we do get it you f#$%ing morons want to trade it away. This is the stupidest thread ever, im putting it with the point forward threads. Everyone of them has a role on this team so far...... Rafer = Ballhandler/ offense facilitator Mike = Offensive Shooting Guard/ Point Guard Steve = Secret Weapon off the bench that Changes the tempo Head = Three point threat You know tracy, bonzi or steve is gonna get injured this year and miss some time anyways. And then all of you are gonna be like why did we trade mike james away or lets play the rookie when we are trying to win.
I definitely want to trade mike james. He will be more of a cancer in our locker room. He is all about me me me. Especially, awhile ago, he said he didn't like minnesota because he didn't get enough shots, but hey dude, you are the not the first option, KG was. I rather keep rafer than mike james.
