Who would like to see us get an Austin Croshere type player?

    ------------------
The Titans are no ordinary football team. Their team is the best in football. Their kicker is the worst in football. Do we see another Janikowski situation brewing?

Please do something, Greco is killing me, and the Titans. Change is needed NOW.

Looks like 'Reef is letting all this trade talk get to him. He was only 15-17 from the field (8-8 from the line) en route to 38 points and 11 boards in a 120-117 win over the Bucks ... [IMG]

(Also, check out Reeves: 16 pts, 8 boards...)

Vancouver is looking like it for several reasons.
    1. Young talent SAR is not helping his team enough. his stats are good/great, but the team is still in the lowest of low teams.
Also the current team is getting more and more expensive, if the intent is to keep them all.
    2. Dream is idolized in Vancouver and everyone remembers his statement regarding his play there....btw, Yes Dream might only give 1 or 2 years, but from their perspective, Dream can still give decent numbers and his legendary status will benefit teammates and put more seats in the stadium - the intangible they need. Also his arrival could serve as positive momentum for the next several years, especially if draft picks come their way.
    3. From several sources, Vancouver is set to make a deal. Players have even been publicly vocal about the situation.
    4. The Rockets obviously need a talent in the frontcourt, and we all know how Rudy feels about Shareef.
    5. The team needs to make a decision about personnel, since it ain't happening for them.
I could go on, but it seems the check marks are already adding up.

I think Roxran is right. I'm somewhat scared b/c of it... but I still think he's right.

What other team can offer up salary relief and decent picks? Any team in the east that got Rahim is more likely to make the playoffs than the Rockets, just because of 'strength of schedule'.

Reeves, I reluctantly admit, would fit the team (though his salary wouldn't in a few years).

BTW-- did anyone notice that Krause was essentially conceding that the Rockets won the drew trade by basically prohibiting their team from being able to trade their first rounder? Sounds like one less team to compete w/ in trades, if you ask me.

    Abdur-Rahim considers opportunities outside Vancouver
By Dave D'Alessandro - The Sporting News

The Shareef Abdur-Rahim sweepstakes is on, and the catalyst behind it is agent Aaron Goodwin, who has convinced his client that it's time to escape from Vancouver. The line forms to the left for one of the few 20-and-10 men in the league, and Toronto, Portland, Indiana, and Philadelphia are expected to line up first.

"I think there's a good possibility he'll be traded before the (February 22) deadline," Goodwin said, "but he has no intention of going to another rebuilding program." _____________________________________________

Notice the last line "he has no intention of going to another rebuilding program." Around the league I think that is pretty much what we are considered.Whether or not we are somehow involved in the trade maybe as a broker and getting Othella for our troubles who knows?I think it's clear SAR won't be a Rocket anytime soon.

    SummerSongGiver,

Rebuilding teams are those with horrible records just playing young guys to try and grow and not really win. We are a team on the rise around .500, possibly a playoff team. Shareef KNOWS, and I mean KNOWS, that with him on this team it is without a doubt a playoff team. Mark my words, he would not object to coming here. Basically, he wants in a different environment than the one he's in in Vancouver, and being a Rocket with this team is certainly that.

    Jeff,

We can't help it! Just tell Clutch to give us a hint and it'll help a little! [IMG]

I think Clutch did give us a hint. He said he "recants everything he said previously in this thread".

The Cat,,,why not start your sleuthing right here in this thread, rather than at RealGM? What is there in this thread for Clutch to recant?

Yes, Shareef destroyed the Milwaukee Schmucks tonight. A man liberated. Sort of, "Look what you'll be missing, b****!" to his coach. "Allah ak'bhar!"
    Apologies to Muslims.
    He'll be here soon.
Clutch, Jeff, you're killing me. You're killing us all. But just doing your duty.

    heypartner,

do you think that this is your dallas trade? I loved the story about Donnell (sp?) rolling the bottle up under the car in front of the FLA. coach, but do you think that the rockets would risk the public backlash for such a small, ineffectual trade?

Blockbuster baby... that's all I want to think about. [IMG]

    HeyP--

He could be recanting that it wasn't Jerome Williams, or Othella, who knows? At this point I just want to sit tight and wait for it to go down...As Rocket fans we've seen so many coulda, woulda, shoulda trades that never took place...and to think we could have had Antawn Jamison!!!

That was a joke by the way, in case Rockets2K is somewhere around.

Detroit played Washington on Dec. 31, in that game Jerome Williams didn’t start but played the most minutes of all the Detroit players. He hasn’t played since.

    Launch Pad,

Well, not exactly. Pig Miller is somewhere in the Westside Tennis Club lying in wait, supposedly CD bought a nice comfortable waterproof tent, that has the Pig very content for the time being.

I was in Gabbys, just minding my business when I heard this guy almost choke on his chickenfried steak, when I look over at him, what immmediately caught my attention was the Houston Rocket buisness like shirt he was wearing along with a Cell Phone that was decorated with pinstripes and a flying snarling Rocket. I was shocked, amused, and curious to say the least.

Of course I was all ears at this point, and to my horror I heard him mention
Jason Collier, Matt Bullard, and Pig Miller contract all in one sentence followed by a inaudible barely recognizable slur which sounde like Bo Outlaw.

Come to think of it, that last inaudible murmur sounded more like Cole Slaw rather than Bo Outlaw, but I couldnt imagine what in the world The Rockets could do with a guy named Cole Slaw thats whay I figured he said Bo Outlaw.

Who does this guy Cole Slaw play for?

What would Portland give up ? Would Rahim put Scottie on the bench ? I'd love it.
