If it were to be Othella, where would that leave Mo? With the way he has been playing the last month he has definitely earned his time. And I doubt if Othella would be happy off the bench, neither would Mo. And I doubt if Mo is dealt. ------------------ "I have a scale at home and it only goes up so far, I love that scale!" - Charles Barkley TNT Studios
I don't think it's Othella either anymore, so scratch that. Got that shot down. I don't have a flippin' clue who it is. heypartner -- I didn't ask. I don't think they would tell me if the team was right, but it not being Dallas seemed pretty clear. I'm not trying to shoot down your info because it sounds like it has a ton of merit and could very well have been discussed for all I know... I'm just trying to find out who or what is going on. Trust me though -- I'm not right everytime. Anyhow, I'll wait until I get something more solid than the last one before I post here... ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
I can see a trade of Hakeem. It's not news that Hakeem is not happy with his playing time. And Rudy can't give Hakeem this team back. Hakeem still wants to be the man! If anyone is on the trading block I'd think it was Cato, Williams, and Rogers. Guys who Rudy would trade without it affecting his rotation are Rogers, Collier, Williams, Cato. But if the Rockets got very agressive I can see the Rockets including Thomas and Bullard in a deal. Well to summarize the guys whom I don't think have to worry about a trade are Francis, Mobley, Anderson, Norris, and Taylor. But, if hakeem is traded this is a move to accomodate Hakeem. Because it's too much fun to speculate I'll throw out my trade scenario. Keep in mind this is coming out of my own imagination and no NBA reliable sources. Hakeem for Shaq!!! I like that one. After all, Kobe needs a partner who doesn't demand the ball as much as Shaq. However I'd hesitate to do this move because of my affiliation with hakeem these past few years. But to accomidate Hakeem to get a few more shots in L.A. I'd do it only for Hakeem and ignore any rockets personal ambitions. Just for you Hakeem!!! ------------------ The guns are cocked and the soldiers are in place, it's time to march and let the battles decide the war.
Hmmm...could Hakeem not be as hurt as they say, and instead be waiting in limbo behind close doors after quietly demanding a trade? ------------------ [This message has been edited by ROCKETBOOSTER (edited January 06, 2001).]
I'll add Adonal Foyle to the "list". GS has Dampier and Mark Jackson, who needs Foyle? Walt for Foyle? Stromile Swift in Vancouver still isn't getting PT. Reef rebounds pretty well too. ( Reef-mania on fire- Agent Goodwin "expects a trade" by the deadline, GM has talked to 14 teams, 10 discussions serious) What about Antoine Walker? Tony Battie? Raef Lafrentz and Croshere are the only 2 mentioned players who fit into our offense immediately. ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
What do you guys think of this trade? Hakeem, Williams, Rogers, Thomas, Detroit #1 pick, Orlando #1 pick, and the Rockets #1 pick. For A. Rahim, B. Reeves, and Harrington. I think this deal would work with of course some minor adjustments. ------------------ The guns are cocked and the soldiers are in place, it's time to march and let the battles decide the war.
vince, I think if a deal happens with Vancouver for Rahim, the structure of it will be very similar to what you are proposing. Basically, I think something along the lines of Olajuwon, Williams, picks for Rahim, Reeves is what we'd be looking at with some possible minor adjustments. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
One foot note! Maybee Vancouver has taken note of Toronto trading youth for experience!! Vancouver with experience is an awsome team. But this team has little NBA winning experience!! Don't forget how much Hakeem likes Vancouver! Reeves is a huge burden on Vancouver. However I'd take Reeves off Vancouvers' hands if it meant getting A. Rahim. Wouldn't you! Taylor, Rahim, Anderson, Mobley, and Francis make one heck of a solid core!!!! ------------------ The guns are cocked and the soldiers are in place, it's time to march and let the battles decide the war.
Also, Shareef Abdur-Rahim could certainly be considered a rebounder since he averages about 10 boards per game. ------------------
Its probably Othella Harrington! ------------------ "If you have to pick a player, I don't know that (Karl) Malone would be the one to pick. Muggsy (Bogues) would be my man. Living in the bay area I can assure you its not Adonal, they would pay you to take Dampier so I highly doubt the Rockets are talking to the Warriors. Brian Skinner anyone? Gary Trent? Tree Rollins? I have no clue. ------------------ "We need to fockass".....Dream back in the day
I would think Vancouver is in there somewhere... from newspaper reports they spoke with 14 teams the other day and are "seriously" talking with 10 of them (damn that's some serious talking) Othella, Shareef... Stromile Swift? ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
Are we absolutely SURE it is a traditional power forward? Rahim is more of a small forward and there are others that could be considered a PF/C. We are throwing out names with no real concept of what this player might be let alone who. Criteria: Young Good rebounder Ready to play now Better than Jerome Williams NOT Othella Harrington NOT Dallas Clutch, maybe you should play 20 questions with your source. 1. Is he bigger than a bread box? 2. Is he smaller than Shaq? ... ------------------ The way to use life is to do nothing through acting, The way to use life is to do everything through being. - Lao-Tzu
Ace & RocketGuard, I'm always amazed at people who can speak multiple languages. I took Spanish for 3 years in high school and three semesters in college, and today couldn't speak more than "where is the bathroom" or "i'd like another beer". Our education system has failed me! Of course you both have to speak a non-native language on a daily basis so it comes a little easier to you. ------------------ "Thirty-seven?" -Randall, Clerks www.clutchtown.com
I know for a fact that the Nelsons like Cato and would love a shot at him. As far as The Dream, if Cuban thinks he can help the team he will pursue the deal. The Mavericks think Donnel Harvey is going to be a stud so I don't see them trading him unless they can get something that could make them contenders now. Cuban likes the Praying Mantis (Shawn Bradley) and I think he wants to resign him if the price is right. So I don't think they are really interested in tradeding him right now. They do have a log jam of young power forwards though. I could see them dealing either Etan Thomas or Gary Trent. The Mavericks are starting to think that Trent can't stay healthy and are content to let Dirk continue at PF with Finley at SF while they Harvey continue to groom Harvey into the starters role (probably a year or two down the road). While they like Thomas he seems to by the odd man out right now. I don't know what his statis is on IR right now either. ------------------
I met with Doc Rocket, who was in Austin today. A deal is going to go down. Brace yourselves. May still be a week or more and some things still have to go down but a handshake deal is in place. It was implied to me who was in the deal but I can't say and I don't know all involved. This is not the original deal discussed in this thread. I retract all my comments previously in this thread... ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
