I think we should just trade in our uniforms for some new ones that's the trade we should definitely do

I can understand die-hard Rockets fans being upset if we trade Hakeem. But those who don't follow the team regularly should stay mute if he goes. If this happens, it's with his blessing and for the good of the team. To me, he will always be "the Rockets." This is not just a chance to get better in a hurry. This is putting together a young team that can rise high in the Western Conference. Jazzholes will begin to fade, Sonics will need to make some moves but could find themselves stuck at just above mediocrity, Sacramento may lose Webber but we don't know yet for sure. Lakers, Blazers, Suns, Spurs, Mavs. It's hell in the West.

For anybody interested, I pieced together a nice little trade at RealGM that meets a lot of the given conditions. Probably dead wrong, but just taking into account HP's story with Dallas wanting Dream for those players, the Bulls giving Fizer to get out of the picks they owe us, Vancouver looking for young stars and cap relief, and our own dreams of getting Reef, here's what I came up with.

houston trades: Kenny Thomas $885,120 to chicago
houston trades: Hakeem Olajuwon $16,700,000 to dallas
    TOTAL:   $17,585,120

vancouver trades: Bryant Reeves $10,110,000 to houston
vancouver trades: Shareef Abdur-Rahim $10,125,000 to houston (BYC Value $7,593,750)
    TOTAL:   $20,235,000

chicago trades: Marcus Fizer $2,562,000 to vancouver
    TOTAL:   $2,562,000

dallas trades: Donnell Harvey $862,560 to chicago
dallas trades: Christian Laettner $6,736,111 to vancouver
dallas trades: Shawn Bradley $8,370,000 to vancouver
    TOTAL:   $15,968,671

    TRADE ACCEPTED
Due to houston, vancouver, and dallas being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. houston, vancouver, and dallas had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Bulls also get Drew picks back from Rockets.
Grizzlies get a future #1 from Dallas.

How about this trade? Dallas gets Hakeem for the playoffs, as HP said they were interested in. Chicago gets KT, Harvey and the picks they gave us for Drew. Vancouver gets a young star to build around, a future draft pick, and cap relief (Bradley and Laettner's contracts are up after this season like Hakeem's.) And we get Shareef, and the baggage of Big Country that comes with him. Just a thought though.

Keep in mind tonight that Cato was out with a minor case of the flu and not an ankle sprain. Does this mean he is involved in the deal?

I think HP is on track with his idea. One day Dream says he is ready to play and the next day he says he will do whatever the doctors say. It sounds REAL fishy. But, I can't make myself believe that Rudy and Carol would EVER trade Dream. He should retire a Rocket, this year or next. Unless, Rudy or CD is pissed because Dream is talking about playing again next year somewhere. I think there are going to be a lot of unhappy Houston fans if Dream gets traded.

My apologies if this trade has already been discussed, but I haven't read all of the posts to date... What about Hakeem/Bull for Reef/Reeves? It seems to fulfill Vancouver's desire to get a whole lot of last-year contract to clear cap room, and would be a straight-up swap of positions. It seems to make sense, though it would officially kill off what little remains of our championship glory. I guess we could aggresively pursue Zan Tabac, or some similar scrub, just to get one of the rings back in town.

Check NBATALK now to see what i mean.

    hehehehe.

The new ownership is willing to make trades.

The GLOVE is headed our WAY! Nevermind that we already have francis. We ship Moochie for Reef and make Francis Payton´s backup.

    Thanos,

maybe you should trade your mind to Mobley, if you are going to lose it anyhow! YOu might be able to get a Wink armband from him.

No way. I had enough reservations about mobley with the whole Francis armband and kiss-kiss stuff, but after he gave Carter a peek last night, i gave up on the kid for good.

if i have to switch minds with anyone in the nba it would have to be rodman. just imagine paying Carmen Elektra and showing her a good time. [IMG] [IMG]

I´ll leave the rest to your imagination.

Why not Mo and Damn Lanky for Mike Miller? Send Mike on to Vancouver with Hakeem and whatever else in the 3-way deal so we can get Shareef and Thella-my-Fella. Mike Miller in Canada is easy to picture. "Hey, it's cold, it feels remote, a million miles removed from basketball's meccas. Feels like I'm back in South Dakota!"
Still don't know if we really want to pay all that money to Big Country, though.
Bo Outlaw would be a nice addition, but is he really a "brace yourself" kind of player?
Unless "brace yourself" is Clutch's sick joke on us all.

I'm realy only doing this because no one has posted to this thread for several hours:
Walt Williams for Bo Outlaw straight up?
With Grant Hill out for the season, don't they need a veteran 3 to split time with Mike Miller?

Why would they need walt(Well, who really needs him [IMG] ) and even more give Bo for him, when they allready have garrity as back-up 3,but need more frontcourt help and rebounding which is what Bo gives them??

Hey Clutch, you havent posted in the thread in a long time now,we're dying here man.Why dont you just tell us if you think the trade is still going down as you first thought,no more specifics, just that so we can keep on with the dreamcasting.

    Yes,please??
