You call this a fair trade??? Unless you're GSW fan this is totally a pointless trade idea. I won't even trde my 2007 2nd draft pick for that guy considering our roster now. To Houston: Troy Murphy To Golden State: Luther Head Dikembe Mutumbo Bob Sura 2007 1st round pick
Is this a weekly feature, how many times has this been posted by various board members? What is the obsession with this guy?
Wow. The guy is one of the best rebounders in the game, is a great shooter for a PF, and has the bulk to take minutes at center. The real question is, why can't you understand why so many people on the board are interested in him? It's funny how I posted this trade idea, and one guy said he wouldn't even trade a 2nd round pick for Murphy. You guys are haters. Yeah, the guy isn't much of an athlete and he doesn't have a post game. But realistically, the guy would probably be the 3rd best player on our team (not my opinion alone - I'm also going by John Hollinger's stats at ESPN).
That's not quite true. We're still over the cap with Mutombo and Sura coming off the books...meaning all we get is the MLE (and LLE) this coming offseason.
I'd not do it yet, as we seem to be rebounding well enough at the moment. And with Wells, Snyder, V-Span, T-Mac (& normally Rafer) not being excellent marksmen, Head is too important to our offense right now shooting the 3. If Wells starts stepping it up, and esp. if our other perimeter shooters do better, then obtaining Murphy and setting him outside and Bonzi on the post would be an effective inside/outside combo (a la Brad Miller/Bonzi), esp. against other team's benches.
Can you imagine a big lineup with Yao, Murphy, Battier, Bonzi, and TMac at PG? Would the other team ever get a rebound?
