Trade idea (not even a rumor) with NY revisited - Moochie/Griffin for Ward

One reason why I think it is crucial to trade Moochie is that Francis knows his "buddy" Moochie is behind him, who is not really an alternative to him because he sucks so badly. If we had someone who you could realistically play instead of Francis if Francis just ignores the coach's instructions in crunch time, that would be so much better.

I know this going back a long way, but remember at FSU Cassell started until Ward finished football season every year... And Cassell was our off the bench contributor in the Champioship years... so I'd do the trade.

Cassell was to Kenny as Ward would be to Francis... a definite incentive to work harder at being a PG.

Good scenario, plus NYK seem to like trying to "repair" bad seeds... they "repaired" Spree, maybe they can "repair" EG.

This sounds good. The problem is that Moochie is not cheap either.

If Charlie Ward becomes a Rocket...I'm not watching the next three Rockets games (as punishment to the Rockets). If Othella Harrington ( ) becomes a Rocket, I'm hitting Ebay and selling all my Rockets stuff. Torraye Braggs has every bit the talent that Othella has, and if we give up Griffin to get Othella, I'm done.

My plan involves getting John Amaechi to put his child psychology Phd training to use and turning Eddie Griffin into a model citizen/consistent shooter.

If that doesn't work, then I suggest letting Mo Taylor trade Eddie Griffin to his cousin Pookie for a bag of weed and a sandwich (the sandwich is for that skinny boxer in the Clutchcity Discussion thread).

If Eg is a good boy, I will never do it, he has so much potential.
but he isn't, so I'd be glad to do so. but I don't think Knicks will do it. Ward is so good a guard that every team want to get.

If you can convince me that Othella can be the tough defensive-minded, but not offensively inept role player we need starting at PF, I'd do it. Otherwise, I wouldn't consider this deal unless NY is willing to offer up Kurt Thomas. Eddie's challenges are all mental/emotional. His game has a ways to go, but nothing that time and weight-training can't fix IF he's dedicated. Whether it's because of depression, drugs, or what-have-you, the mental focus is what's hurt Eddie since entering the league, and as has been beaten to death, he IS a young player. However, if Kelvin Cato can transform from the malcontent he used to be to the workhorse he is now, I'm confident that Eddie can eventually break out too.

If we want Ward, we might be better off just waiting for the Knicks to acquire a point guard and then picking Ward up off waivers. Moving Moochie's contract in the process would be great, but not worth giving up on Eddie yet unless someone in the know expresses reservations about his longterm prospects.
