I agree, it doesn't seem probable. On the other hand, who would have thought they'd trade Shaq... I maintain hope because Kobe's a jerk and Doc Buss listens to him and if Kobe doesn't like Lamar, anything's possible.
"Sorry to be tardy to the party," but... this is a horrible idea. I don't want to be mean; I totally understand the desire for some sort of shake-up, but both of those guys are serious downgrades. I cringed when I saw the thread. Why on earth is everyone so quick to throw Luther Head in as extra trade bait!?! Our backcourt problems are not solved and I'd appreciate one reason as to why we should get rid of this guy.
i dont get why some of you guys wudnt mind having mckie when we were dying to get rid of david wesley this year
I guess realgm is on blocking list, let me see if adding additional space works. http://w w w . r e a l g m . c o m / b o a r d s /viewtopic.php?topic=548911
Rockets dump JHo's contract. It also makes room for a player with a big salary. Rockets aren't going to add another big contract if they're in danger of exceeding 65 Mil the luxury tax threshold.
I'll probably get bashed for this here but in defense of Howard, there were a few games where he played really well when Yao and Tracy were out (still no defense though). He has that one skill down of hitting a jumper from the top of the freethrow line and from the corner. Thats about it. But if Mcgrady and Yao are healthy, he isn't that bad for us. He can hit that outside jumper (10-15 ft). If he could just play a little defense and grab a few rebounds, we woldn't have to just throw him to the dogs. Well, now that I think about it, his contract sucks so I guess it would be better for us to get rid of him. His contract is the biggest problem. However, if we are stuck with him...then so be it...
You are correct there were more than a couple of games... there is no question Juwan still has an offensive game. I have said the 1 place he is needed is whe Yao and Tmac are on the bench. What makes him undesirable is that his game is to similar too Yao's in terms of where he shoots and spacing. Add that to his poor defense and he just doesn't fit.
Poor D, stays away from rebounding, and is not that consistent. Couple that with his not worth it contract and you have a player noone wants.
YEA RIGHT!!! LOL!!! Howard, Sura & Novak for Odom? Give me a break! And they are so nice to throw in a 2nd-rounder as well. How generous. LOL!!!
That's why if he stays on this club, I hope he gets backup minutes at center behind Yao only. Yao and Juwan on the floor together is TERRIBLE.
there is a lot of chatter this morning on Lakers boards that there was a mention of this deal on a local radio station - anyone hearing anything new on this? LP?
I was listening on the local ESPN and AM570 and did not hear a thing. I would know if I had heard it, because I would have been throwing up if I did.
LOL. Is that cause you're a Rocket fan or a Laker fan. Seems as though both sides feel they're getting ripped in this deal. Which probably means it'll happen. But it appears that the poster claiming to have heard it on the radio was making things up - no one else ahs reported hearing anything similar. Thanks for your response. By the way, from reading this thread, I can tell you that you are undervaluing Mihm - he's actually a lot better than most are giving him credit. His biggest problem is staying out of foul trouble. Otherwise he is an excellent backup C, and I would say a better starting C than a third of the starting C's in the league. Cook has a sweet outside shot, but sucks on D. Just awful.
I am a rockets fan living in Camarillo, Ca. I do not value Mihm, but he would not be bad in a back-up role, I guess. But who would want McKie?
It's funny how it's always one person who happens to hear on the radio and the station decides it is never going to mention it again. http://www.570klac.com/pages/streaming.html
