I can see the headline now if this new club prevents the Rockets from trading for McDyess so he can leave that hell hole.

Still to this day, I don't think I have ever heard of someone breaking their kneecap. It sounds like an injury that would be kind of difficult to heal or test. Does anyone know much about this kind of injury.

Also, I read somewhere (I can find it later, I think ESPN) that before they knew for sure what Mcdyess had injured he was quoted saying that if it was the same kind of injury he had just recovered from, then he didn't know if he would come back. He said he worked really hard to recover from that injury and didn't know if he could do all that again.

It must be really demoralising to have two seasons in a row tossed like this. I'm wondering if he will have the motivation it takes to rebound from this type of injury and be the dominate player of old.

Wow I did`nt expect to take a nap, wake up and see 23 replys to my question. All of the replys were very good. I guess you guys proved me wrong this time. I hope McDyess proves everybody wrong and comes back strong- although after reading the replys I also doubt it. If people here think we can make the playoffs I say stand pat. I hate hearing wait till next year ****- if a team says that why even play? I know- to jell-I also hate hearing that. I want to hear Championship- and f... Shaq!!!

I was mainly trying to get rid of our over paid injured-lame junk for a chance to have a great player with a great heart. Too bad McDyess may also be on the scrap pile. Mabey if these guys Cato, Taylor, Rice ect... will come alive this season if they see we really at a shot at something great. I really think this team has a great shot if the players believe it and there is not too much showboating. They need to play as a team. I used to not like Cat because of that-hog the ball-then throw up a brick, but this preseason I have seen different from him. Mabey he just had to prove himself before and now he can relax a little and think of the team- I hope. If this team starts out winning then they will realize they should-and can also be dominating. I don`t see any other team that I would really be worried about- including the Lakers- unless of course if Horry has the ball with one second left-trailing by a point.

I am an old FARTS. RC beat me to the punch. Brando's logic is fairly sound, but I like what I'm seeing in the preseason so far. Let's give this team a chance to evolve!

The Cowboys had a reciever that broke his knee cap about the middle of last year. He recovered and made it back to training camp but while he was running and making a cut it broke again, no contact from another player it just broke. Almost everyone associated with it said that it is surely the end of his career.

After Jerry Rice blew his ACL, he came back too early and broke his kneecap, just like McDyess. I gathered from the commentary then that it's not uncommon for someone to break their kneecap after a previous knee injury.

I think Mcdyess should retire. I love his skillz and hoped we would of signed him instead of Pippen but after his injuries I wouldnt want him on this team anymore.

I've always loved McDyess... I feel for him. I really do. But to New York and the League it's time to say we're satisfied with OUR damaged goods.
