Hey, wow, I never thought of that before....... You Tmac apologists.....you wild and crazy guys....... DD
Joe's numbers did all drop during the playoffs. That said, in the deciding Game 7 against Miami, he was 10-19 from the field, 6-8 from three, had 5 boards, 4 assists, 5 steals, only 1 turnover and 27 points. He definitely showed up when it mattered the most... maybe if he showed up more earlier in the series it wouldn't have gone 7 games, but then, it was a funky series with so many blowouts. They started the Cavs series two days later, and it definitely showed. He sucked in Cleveland. Back at home, though, while his three point shot left him, he performed better. In the Game 4 loss that swept them out of the playoffs he went for 18 with 6 rebounds, 7 assists, no turnovers, and a steal. Not spectacular, but solid. The year before in the playoffs he didn't exactly "up" his game either, though he did shoot 45% from threes over that 7 games series. I think Joe is a great player. He plays solid defense, has somewhat unique ballhandling skills for a player that can really slide into PG,SG or SF positions, can score, distribute and rebound. I think he plays better in a "faster" system and thus his stats tend to deflate a bit in the slower grind of the postseason.
Because he's Marsha Brady that's why... Damn DD... Looks like your making everyone mad. We need to get a intervention in this biatch... Kumbaya my Lord... Kumbaya my Lord... Seriously Anelka... It's not that crucial...
His numbers dropped off because he was being doubled-teamed the whole time. It's kinda hard to score when you're the only big offensive threat on your team...
Nah, it is all in good fun, some people like my posts, others hate them....but hey, whatever...... It is all about me...Marsha ....Marsha...Marsha...Marsha... If people can call some of us realists haters, we can call them apologists, it is like the Right versus left.....we are Red states versus blue states...... In my opinion - It would be great to get a younger more durable player for Tracy at this point in his career. It won't happen, but it would greatly improve the Rockets.....IMO.... DD
As smoothie said....moving on... How about them Texans!!! They're trash i know... Could be the Astros....
Your living in the past. I'd like to know the last time you actually seen this Superstar Tracy McGrady you speak of. We didn't trade Tracy because we actually thought he was worth a sh** before he actually bailed out like a little punk when he was soon to be traded. That's why he's still on the team, not because Morey still believes in him. All he is now is a pawn to sell to a lowly team that'll get desperate for cap relief in mid season. Tracy is a joke.
Yo "dave"... I not only watch basketball I've played it a long time. as of "today" McGrady is a better financial, and basketball situation for houston. Its about staying competitive while also bulding the future. Tmac helps both aspects. Injury prone? obviously... but does that discredit McGrady frm being the superstar we NEED no. McGrady has lost a lot with this injury... but listen... Rockets are allowing this to play out.. while still building for the future. As a former ball player.. I knw that what McGrady did on the court is impossible to replace. u cant... thts why u milk the cow till there aint none left. rockets believe he can still ball. If he can.. IF he can.. which they r betting on, he is WAY better option than Joe. Hands down...better. financially u dnt lose in this deal.. but u also dnt lose by keeping t mac. Morey knws better that what Tmac does.. joe can't do. Morey wants the superstar. When we played the jazz 2 yrs ago.. McGrady looked good. really good. U jst sound like a guy who is upset that u can't return the jeresy to academy.
Ok. You win. 30 year old, has not played at an All Star level in 18 months, reconstructed knee McGrady is going to return to 04-05 form and stay that way while the Rockets re-tool and wait for Yao to return. This season, next season and the season after he will still be superstar and a much better player than Joe Johnson as well as a better value. I'm heading off to Academy now to see if I can at least exchange my jersey.
Atlanta will not do this trade right now unless the team is having serious financial problem, and wants to release the money. Tmac has to show the people he can play on the court before someone says old Tmac is back, and he has good value for any team.
lol usually u score more ask Wade in the same series Joe was a ghost last year in the playoff in BOTH series. He'll even the guys who called the hawks games called out Joe. One good game helps I guess, but if any other star did the same, trust me the criticism will be even worse Joe is a very good player. But his playoff performances leave a lot to be desired. Let's face it he was very average this past playoff.
Again to put it out there I would do this trade too bc Tracy is injury prone, but Joe is not close to an upgrade over the 07-08 tmac
