...you talking about t-mac? I'm pretty sure he'll average more than 10ppg with a yao-less team.

Im nearly positive that these were just rumors, there was no solid evidence that these trades were on the table. So no, he hasnt made big mistakes.

I think the only chance for the rockets to get him is signing him as a free agent next summer.

We will see, but my expectations on him is about the same i had with Francis. Players will talk alot in articles just to sale tickets.

Atlanta will have trouble re-signing Horford if they don't manage their cap. I can maybe see that as incentive to deal.

The only way Atlanta does this is if Jamal Crawford is considered to be their "2", Tracy their "3"....

    And....

We'd have to throw in a combo involving Brooks or Lowry or Taylor or Landry, PLUS take on someone else from their roster who makes about $10 million. They do have a semi-headcase shotblocking presence who fits that bill (Josh Smith) but this is all speculation anyway.

No. This trade would be bad for Us. Joe Johnson can NOT do what Tracy does on the basketball court. Joe is a Great player, and is awsome offensivley, but he is NOT a superstar. Tracy is. Johnson can score 30 but is NOT a superstar.Tracy is. Unless getting rid of t-mac brings in a long term solution... this deal is fantasy. Tracy can do things on the court...obviously... that about 330 players in the NBA can't. rockets believe he can be healthy again. They rather wait on Mac than to trade for someone else because superstars r tough to find. again.. Joe is awsome, but tracy is better. Joe is healthy.. tracy is not. Other than that.. trade dosent happen.

I wouldn't call it so much of a big mistake just a case of where you look back in hind sight it should have been done and needed to be done but wasn't a mistake is expecting Tracy and Yao to stay healthy an entire season including playoffs and be title contenders that is a mistake. :(

well even if they were just rumors they were just running around and spreading like wildfire all over the internet and among big media agencies....I'm sure there were at least some sort of potential trading T-Mac for decent stars after his stellar 2007 playoffs with that W22 STREAK that I'm sure raised his stock greatly. It may not have been those Pistons players...but we all saw that Chauncey Billups was given away for the sole purpose of an expiring contract soon after the T-Mac rumors died.

Made no big mistakes? Hmmm...the Kobe for Luol Deng trade was probably the the greatest non-trade ever this decade....I don't think the Chicago FO was mistake-free in that one.......

I don't understand why ATL would want to trade for tmac just bc jj could leave and they would get nothing.....tmacs expiring too and they would have to worry about resigning him as well. Unless ATL gets rid of a horrid contract, makes no sense. Maybe I'm missing something.....fill me in?

That's not even remotely close to the proposed trade.

Originally, the LA wanted to trade Kobe to Chicago for Tyrus Thomas, Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, and Joakim Noah.

Kobe vetoed the deal b/c he did not want Deng included in the deal. He wanted Deng to stay in Chicago so the Bulls would be left with enough supporting talent to be a contender.

It's obvious that Tracy has never made it out of the first round....and 330 or more NBA players have.

ok I know I didn't describe the complete trade scenario there...but the Bulls FO were never prepared to offer Luol Deng in that package anyways and thus are foolish and making a mistake in not willing to do so...

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=sheridan_chris&page=Deng_Bryant
The Bulls, according to ESPN.com's source, are willing to offer an alternative package of Gordon, Noah and Thomas.

Here is says the Bulls were only willing to offer a package up to the total value of Gordon+Noah+Thomas...remember back in 2007 Noah was just a unproven rookie and Thomas was still very much a no-name other than being a high lottery pick and having huge potential..Chicago was never prepared to give up someone like Deng(not necessarily Deng himself) who was putting up all-star numbers.....Its a big mistake to low-ball like this on an offer to Kobe...hence thats why I call that a big mistake of a non-trade.......

I still dont see how you can fault Morey for not making trades that were never on the table for sure.

what a dumb trade, first of all tracy is better than Joe johnson. he really has no limitations when he is healthy. yes he hasnt been healthy the last couple of years, but he has a great chance to be back at 100% this season. You WILL NOT, i mean WILL NOT get anybody for now that equals what you have in tracy mcgrady.
