Because he has proven to be injury prone, and overcoming the mental aspects of injuries is sometimes more difficult than the body healing. It is one thing to be somewhat pain free, it is another thing to will the body to do things that he knows might injure him again. Watch how he plays, if he is cautious, and settling for too many jumpers, that will tell you a lot about how "Overall" healthy he really is.... I think his body is pretty good, but I have serious doubts about his will power.... DD
It amazes me how many people keep defending McGrady. If he comes back and plays well this year, it is because he is in a contract year. Period. That is the main fire driving him. Sure, he might want to silence some naysayers, but he's too lazy to really, really care. I have to agree with DD on this one. Even if McGrady is physically able to play like his younger self (and we always lose half a step, it's inevitable), watch to see if his mind will shut it down on him.
Whether it is a contract year or not, T-Mac could never play in the same level as in Orlando. Actually, he hasn't played in a all star level since he came to houston.
they were saying that T-Mac would never be able to become as good as he was before (04-05 being the last time he was "the real T-Mac"... however, I believe T-Mac CAN resurrect himself and become the eliteness T-Mac once was now that he'll come back injury-free and fresh...with no pressure and bloated expectations everywer
Steep . in 08 he finished 6th in the MVP Vote getters. many had him as the league mvp that year. he also averaged 28-6-7 in the playoffs. including 35 in the last two games. scoring 40-10-5 in game 6.
This thread is to talk about a scenario that the Rockets might have. It dosen't require the whole oj defense team to come along and object to everything. This is all pure speculation. Don't get your panties all up in a bunch.
Because the jazz in 08 were better. yao was out of the series and bobby jackon was the starting PG for ame 1 and 2 with rafer injured. despite all that we took them to 6 gaames.
Those numbers suggest "I" It takes a team player like JJ who works hard on both ends of the court to be successfull in the playoffs.
Yes, he went into a steep decline. His production might not have, but his game certainly did. He didn't attack the basket as much and would too often settle for long jumpers.
