Sengun and whatever we have to send. Needs to happen ASAP. So we can rest easy and not worry about going going in with the same team. Send Jabari or Eason with Alpi for all I care.

He's probably worth his contract. He's not worth trading 4 picks (or 4 picks of value) and paying his contract.

probably on the planet where the analytics expert said Jaylen Brown is the 7th best player on a team

like Brown said, we’re playing AI hoops now

Ya if you can get him for just expiring money basically he’s fine (like butler for brown). If you are trading picks or players with value (like sengun) it’s bad.

You serious? Compete? That roster is competing for 6th in the West at best and a 1st round exit. There’s not a 1st or 2nd option among any of the names you listed. The shooting is terrible too. And Amen as your starting PG?

They can ask all they want, but they aren’t getting 4 frp’s from anybody with a brain. Maybe Washington or Charlotte since they are even dumber than our FO. I think Charlotte is a really good fit for Celtics. Charlotte’s trade exception + filler +3 frp’s for Brown. I think Charlotte might actually do it. They could run out Coby White, Knuepple, Brown, Miller, Kalkebrenner (I guess). That team would score a lot of points, but also give up just about as much, but as I said Charlotte is stupid.

I don’t even like KD, but do you really think he’s not a 1st or 2nd option?

I beg to differ. Amen with 4 shooters will be a fine PG, but I know you guys have already got your mind made up about him. It would depend on the return we get for KD. We won 52 games with Sengun’s lousy year and Tari or Okogie as our starting SG. That team would win 60 games substituting the ghost of KD for a legit SG.

That's not even true on the All-Star team he was on earlier this year:

in his post, KD is traded for a random SG…and KD doesn’t have much value, so whatever SG it ends up being won’t be anything to write home about

we’re talking about a lineup of Amen, SG, Tari, Jabari, Mobley

that roster is cheeks with no 1st or 2nd option in sight and weak shooting

I think I'm higher on Jaylen Brown than most here. He's super steady and produces at a high level. He's like Jimmy Butler in that even if he's not the most talented player on the floor he's going to go toe to toe with the best. And I don't mind that he's already 29, about to turn 30. I think he's going to be very good for the duration of his contract and would be a great leader for the young guys.

My issue is that Miami essentially got Jimmy in a SnT for a minor package: Hassan Whiteside, Josh Richardson, Moe Harkless, Meyers Leonard, and a future 1st round pick. That's the kind of package we want to give up for a 2nd level star. Boston is asking for way more than that and will likely get a high price for him. If we're talking Sengun, Eason, and multiple unprotected picks that is a very expensive package. We wouldn't have much ammo to improve the roster afterwards.

Same planet you’re on if you’re willing to trade Sengun and whoever else to get friggin’ Jalen Brown.

Tari's got good defense and as a good slasher. And will cost about 40 million a year less. Unfortunately that is where the positives end.

we’re using the term “shooters” very liberally now

Tari Eason is inconsistent and below average-barely average depending on the season

    Jabari is average at best

Evan Mobley’s 3 point percentage fluctuates wildly, and his attempts are low

no team cares about Tari, Jabari, or Evan Mobley shooting threes

and let’s not act like KD’s shot making didn’t win us several games this past season or help us survive many scoring droughts

a team with no 1st or 2nd option isn’t a serious team and will be dealt with easily in the playoffs…5 game 1st round exit

I think Eason is a much better defender now, but not near the offensive player that Brown is. Brown has a reputation as a strong defender, but he's kinda fallen off there as he's taken more offensive load and aged.
I think the price is dropping by the minute...

Maybe I'm crazy, but why bother trading for Jaylen Brown if you're trading KD?

Jaylen Brown is a "win now" move but if you're swapping him for Durant are you actually any better?
