The Dream is over and it is now time to move on. I can see Cuttino and Maurice eyes lighting up as more shots come there way. However, I can see Kelvin Cato hiding in fear due to the expectations of him this year. Marc Jackson is our best option at center, leaving Cato on the bench and playing 10 minutes per game to justify his existence on the team. Did the rockets underesimate hakeem's attractiveness to other teams? I think they did.They must have with their first offer of 1yr 4.1mill . Thats an insult anyway you cut it. After the Rockets saw teams offer Hakeem 5mil per,then they woke up. I'm not bitter at Hakeem, he should have been the #1 priority. The CBA is intended to do what baseball and football can't do,make sure you keep your own free agents because no team can pay a player as much as his original team! Does anyone think if the Rockets would have came out the box with 14mil for 2 years that Hakeem would have thought about any other team? Every one wants to say the Hakeem slows the team down,you can't run if you don't rebound the ball or make defensive stops. A source close to Dream was quoted in the "Hakeem a Raptor" Houston Chronicle article as saying everyone believed Dream is done but he's not done and has something to prove. My question....who the hell ever said that? Someone in the Rockets organization? Maybe some fans were spouting off that garbage. I think we all agree that if Dream is healthy , then he can be a powerful force regardless of his age(like the second half of last season). That crap bothers me. There is no way everyone believes Dream is done. THAT SH#T BOTHERS THE HELL OUT OF ME! Nobody ever said that...maybe the offering of less money implied that? Hakeem no longer fits this team. The Rockets must move on. The Raptors will provide a much better chance for Hakeem in the next two years to play deep into the play-offs. It's a shame, yes, but this was necessary for both sides, and we should wish Hakeem well. He was being stubborn; but you don't disown a member of the family just for being hard-headed. Dream will always be a Rocket no matter what. There shouldn't be hard feelings toward him. A good point was made on the radio today. How many people think we'd have a team without Dream? If we didn't get the new arena The Rockets would have left. If it weren't for the two championships the referendum might have not passed. If it weren't for a guy named Hakeem "The Dream" Olujawon those championships wouldn't be there. Thank you for everything Dream.
