Well, Doc says our to-be war room is talking up Butler, but how to get him? He probably won't fall out of the top 5.

Now, trading up to #10 seems plausible, as the Heat are trying to move Brian Grant anyway and could use KT in that case. But if we made this move we would net a Jared Jeffries, maybe Nickoloz, etc.

I enjoy fantasizing about Butler falling low enough for us to trade for him, but I have yet to hear a convincing reason why Butler would fall so low. Certainly many teams in the lottery don't need a SF and Butler is a little on the short side, but really, what's changed between now and the matter of days since we were talking about Butler going Top 3? I've only seen fan speculation that Butler's size is of issue to anyone. Even if Butler were interested in the Rockets, I doubt he'd be interested enough to swallow the salary he'd lose being drafted at #10 if, say, Denver or Cleveland would take him 5, 6, not to mention the prestige factor.

Just start calling him C-BU (c-boo) and he'll fall to #15.
Butler is a perfect fit- however we get him...

Bubba, maybe we could trade Mobley and the 15 for Caron and that team's late first round pick (if they have one), a future pick, or a veteran.

Could someone kindly point me to this "other thread?" The search function is disabled and I've scanned almost all of the recent threads with no success.

Maybe we can trade Cat to Philly. It would be interesting to see what happens when two ballhogs in Cat and AI are on the same team.

I would trade Cat & KT for Butler in a heartbeat. But Cat goes nowhere before Steve signs his deal.
But no way would Riley give up Butler. He'll play the kind of defense that gets Pat all hot & bothered.

Does that really help the team? Butler has yet to prove anything in the NBA level and nobody is certain how good he'll be. Giving up two proven commodities for somebody who may or may not be better than Cuttino is pretty nuts. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have Butler but not at the expense of Mobes. This team already has enough projectable talent.

Butler is less of a project than your typical draft pick. Also, defense wins championships and both Cat & KT lack the size necessary to be stoppers.

Butler is still a project and there is no guarantee that he'll excel in the NBA. Again I'd love to have him on the team but not at that price. As far as the defensive stopper you're referring to, read my signature. That's the answer at #15.

I think so too. But from what I heard in local denver radio that KT is not going to be trade. I like KT, But if he is asking for fat contract, Rockets will reconsider something!

Let it be known, that although the Rockets are talking highly about Butler, the Rockets first choice at filling the three spot is Lamar Odom.
    Sorry Lewis,
Doc, please tell me if I am wrong.

Ming and Butler in one draft? That would be badass, but it won't happen. As for Odom being the #1 choice at SF, I think Rudy and CD would rather have Lewis even Butler over him, so would I. Unfortunately, Odom and Lewis are high-priced, and if Butler turns out to be all he is suppose to be, he will be too.

    Ming
    Griffin
    Butler
    Mobley
    Francis

    It's all over!!
