It's interesting Atkin's name is brought up again. Here is an article from today's Memphis Commercial Appeal where it says the Grizzlies just signed PG Junior Harrington to a 10-day contract. The coaching staff really liked him coming out of training camp before management decided to cut him. http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/grizzlies/article/0,1426,MCA_475_5342614,00.html Maybe they are preparing to trade Atkins and got another PG to help out once he is gone. Just speculation on my part though due to the timing of it coinciding with the Rocket's TE about to expire and rumors of Atkins joining the team.
very interesting...wonder what other playoff contending teams needs a backup PG... we need to elbow JLIII to the inactive list
http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/nba/article/0,2777,DRMN_23922_5340180,00.html If there are other incentives for the Nuggets to stay under the LT threshold, Rockets could offer part of the TE for Linas Kleiza. Denver already are stuck with long term contracts at the 4 in KMart, Nene, and Reggie Evans. Kleiza's inconsistent but as a player he could be the middle ground between JHo and Hayes except with a 3 point shot. His salary this year is just under a million.
btw all: Feigen reported again in today's paper that the TE expires on Tuesday, the 13th smoothie, Regarding your nifty idea for two teams with TEs to make TE-based trades with each other in order to generate new ones with new expiration dates; that's a cool idea. I'm pretty sure you can do those simultaneously in the same compound trade...you wouldn't have to wait a day or whatever. Each part of the trade would be atomic. Team A player for Team B TE and Team A TE for Team B player. The NBA allows teams to contruct trades in the most advantageous way. I don't think the NBA would say; hey guys, we think you should just trade player A for player b...and we're going to make your TEs expire. fwiw: i find the easiest way to explain a TE is it is like a "Player(s) to be Named Later" part of a trade in baseball, where the player(s) can come from any team within a given salary range. Nothing else can be done with a TE except to find your player(s) to be named later.
You have to be kidding. David Harrison sucks. Why would we want to trade a future first rounder to get him. He was picked at the tail end of the first round and has failed to prove he was worth that. Plus he is a total d*ckhead so forget bringing him here at all.
