damn, i must check what i wrote after i post, i was in a hurry and tired. sorry, that was exactly what i meant to say. thanks Axeman
I've read this a few times trying to find humor - even "TheFreak humor" - in it. Just seems stupid though. No, the BBS didn't inspire any player to "change their ways", but fans and their opinions are way more important than you think... and players do come here. Actually I find you contradict yourself a lot in trying to slam fans here: fans have no right to complain and their opinion is worth nothing, but Houston fans are the worst since they don't cheer nonstop at games. Huh? I'll say it again - posters like Axeman are as big of a problem if not a bigger problem than the posters he's mocking. You'd have to be a moron to miss the vicious cycle this contributes to. Some posters are frustrated with the team and vent (aka: the "hatas"). Others are frustrated with those posters, and claim they "aren't fans" (aka: "blind sunshine asses"). Obviously that's a huge insult, so the "hatas" fire back. Unless a team goes 0-82 or 82-0, it just goes back and forth and back and forth and ba.... And when it's a schizo, near .500 team like the Rockets .... well lets just say some of us are a little dizzy watching this tired game.
Clutch: People actually said exactly what I posted. Almost word for word (well, maybe not the laptop on the plane part). This was after the Minnesota and Sac wins. Could've been other times too. I don't see where I'm being contradictory on the other part.
TheFreak: Name one of those players who has a C of Yao's quality. But don't try too hard, because you won't be able to do it. I like you, so I don't want you to stress out too much on an impossible task .
First of all: I never said the negative people weren't fans, I've only tried to make the point that I would like to see a little more patience because they are young and still developing as a team. Second: Sometimes the best way to get a point across is by shock-value. What this post was meant to do was to underscore the amazingly tired game of "Rockets lose - We Suck", "We beat the Lakers - OK, now we're the best" mentality. But, hey, isn't that what keeps this BBS going. Third: No poster on here should be looked at as a "problem", in my opinion. We all have something to contribute, and the debates are spirited. We all have our different styles and ways of getting our point across. We all have good things to say sometimes, and bad things to say other times. But, that's what makes this whole thing beautiful. Fourth: Without the "back and forth" you seem to be so tired of, there wouldn't be a BBS at all, unless we all just sat around and posted "Rockets won today" or "Rockets lost today" without any opinions or expansion on ideas. Clutch, seriously, this is the best unofficial Rockets site on the internet. You have been dedicated to this site for years now. Many of us have been coming here since the beginning (i.e. me). We are all fans, with a right to our opinions, and with a right to disagree with each other and voice that disagreement or agreement. We all think we're right a lot of the time or we wouldn't be here posting stuff. If you are getting tired of "problem" posters like me or sick of other happenings on this board then maybe you are just getting sick of the BBS, because a lot of us here still like it and enjoy it. Either that, or exclude the problem posters and carry on this BBS as a private conversation area for your favorite people. It will probably get really boring really fast.
What was that .... oh yeah, vicious cycle. Axeman -- I strongly, strongly suggest you take a Reading Comprehension course. Perhaps a community college near you is offering one. I never said debate is bad as you clearly did not read what "back and forth" meant in this discussion. It was the knee-jerk reactions I was specifically talking about, and it's right there in black-and-white. Fans overreact against team, others (such as yourself) don't like it and overreact on them. And the vicious cycle continues. My point was you are very much part of the problem. Our entire conversation was based on you establishing that very point - that there was a problem here! You giving me a lecture here is downright hysterical (and hypocritical), since the only reason we ever discussed this in the first place is because of your comments All I can say to that Axeman is this: If you are getting tired of "problem" posters or sick of other happenings on this board then maybe you are just getting sick of the BBS, because a lot of us here still like it and enjoy it. Either that, or I could exclude the problem posters for you so you could carry on this BBS as a private conversation area for your favorite people. It will probably get really boring really fast.
